OU - Washington

Does Syb attend games? I didn't think he did.

If SC can't or won't make changes, it may not be too much longer before, you, the Stilettos, Boren, and Castiglione have the LNC all to yourselves for home games.

Some of our posters need to start attending OU WBB games - and have your eyes open when you do.

The chance you will see Boren - or Castiglione - at a game is pretty close to a big fat ZERO.

They seldom attend - with the exception being when they are giving some honor to a donor - and they tend to leave pretty quickly afterwards.

Castiglione does attend more than Boren, but that is not saying much.

Karma, Mike Neighbors! That's what he gets for being ugly. I feel bad for Plum and Osahor, though.

Boren doesn't attend many men's games either.

Wonder if Neighbors is going back to Arkie? Losing all his stars at UDub and I don't think Arkie has hired coach. He's from Arkie and coached as assistant at Arkie.

Will Arkansas pay? Isn't that why Blair left?

Off topic, but has anyone ever seen Kruger at a womans game? Used to see Capel there regularly. I have never seen Lon there.

A few times. But honestly it is almost impossible for either Sherri or Lon to attend each other's games. Quite often in fact, they are playing/traveling out of town when the other is playing here at home.

I live in Norman and I have season tickets to 6 sports and go to some men's and women's gymnastic and track and field meets. Make about 100 OU events annually. My wife and I are amazed at how many events Joe Castiglione actually attends. For certain he is very involved.

We must remember that he oversee the financial and personnel matters of 19 sports at OU. He frequently travels representing the university in Big 12 and NCAA matters. His job is not a 40 hour job but probably 60 hours plus.

We as fans should be proud of how active he is in all the sports. Not concerned that he misses some events or leaves early for others. We must remember his plate is very full with a multitude of task that must be done.

Also don't forget Boren runs the state's largest public university and the athletic department is a very small part of that job despite it getting major media exposure. OU is comprised of 21 colleges located on campuses in Norman, OKC, Tulsa and Arezzo, Italy. OU's enrollment exceeds 30,000 students and has a full time faculty of 2,800 instructors.

He spends significant time dealing with the legislature regarding funding matter, corporations and alumni soliciting donations to replace the state's reduction of OU's funding by more than $100 million, personnel matters as well as teaching an honors class. He is inundated with demands for his time.

Except for special circumstances and football games where thousands of contributors are in attendance his university priority is normally elsewhere. Unlike Castiglione I see Boren only occasionally and then there is usually a special reason for his attendance

Just to clarify, SS, I was not criticizing Boren or Castiglione for not attending games very often.

I agree with you that they have lots of demands on their time and energy.

My point was that whether it is men's or women's basketball, you should not be surprised if you don't see them there.

I only saw saw the ending of the UW-Mississippi State game, but I did get curious if Neighbors got any well-deserved crap from any OU fans who had already bought tickets and went to the game. Of course, the witch who coached in the nightcap deserved way more fan displeasure than any other coach in the nation....
