Guard play is terrible. None of the three starting guards can even dribble. I'm still wondering if y'all still think Hield is playing in the NBA.
The collective basketball IQ of this team is brutal.
I'm seeing point guards for OU who flat out suck. They crumble and panic under pressure. I thought the early season losses would maybe help the team learn but it hasnt, they've only doubled-down on those failures. So instead of saying - oh hey we need to get better in the half court it looks like they said the opposite. Let's get worse. Let's run more.
Unfortunately, that is very accurate tonight. Guard play is probably the one main key you absolutely have to have in March to succeed....and outside of Hield/Cousins (who are scorers, not facilitators), we simply don't have that. If the guys you count on to protect the ball and run the offense simply go into "retard mode" when any modicum of pressure is thrown at them....then you're team is severely limited in its ability to produce offensively.

Huggins has gone to the Gary Blair approach. He is 10 deep with strong quick guys. So they come on slashing and pushing. If the officials call it close they have 45 fouls to give and the officials will usually loosen up in that type of game. If the officials let them play then all the better. They let them play tonight.
Having said that we were slipping, stumbling and losing the ball all over the place. They clearly outquicked us all night. Also that Williams guy is legit.

Buddy has a pretty decent game except the 3 turnovers, wish he would go into the woodshed and work on his handles to play some point at times give the team some more options.
