Pastner

Playing C-USA competition not enough of a vehicle? He lost to ECU and UAB. Needs to bake longer.

We will find a mole on every candidate. His is age. Conf USA is not helping. Even with a solid year, you won't get a good seed because there is no respect for the league. I think his recruiting connections in Tx would be huge. Same could be said for Buzz. I would be happy with either really.

Image wise, which guy is a better fit for OU, Buzz or Pastner?

I would guess Buzz but only because some might hold working with Cal against Pastner.

it's fun saying "no way" to a coach we don't have a realistic shot at anyway.

Its also funny to hear someone say how we don't have a realistic shot at a coach that is 33 and at a conf usa school. Maybe you know our budget. I don't know but it could mean we can only afford a mid-major type hire.

I don't mind a mild Pastner...but prefer a smooth lager or a citrusy ale.

I could stand some lagers instead of a list of candidates. I would contemplate better.

Pastner can is the best recruiter. He can become a better coach, but there is no substitute for getting talent.

Pastner had the third youngest team in D-1 and the youngest team in the tournament and they still managed to finish the year 12-2(counting today) in games decided by 5 points or less. And 6-1 in one possession games. That sounds like pretty good coaching to get such a young team to play that well in close games.

All this means is he basically got blown out by every significant/tournament team they played other than UAB. Didn't we just have that last year with Capel? No thanks.

I didn't realize Capel won close games and put his team in the Touney, last year. I must have watched the wrong team.

Memphis averages 17k+ per game.

The last 3 coaches OU have come from Lamar, Washington State and Virginia Commonwealth. People need to get a grip on who the real candidates are.

Comparing the last couple of Capel teams to Memphis? Really? Hardy har har

Did anyone on this board actually watch Memphis play this year? They went from top 20 ranked to needing last second free throws to make the Dance.

To play the part of Capel's haters:
Lost to KU by 13
Lost at home to Georgetown by 17
Lost at Tennessee by 20
Lost at UTEP by 27
Lost at ECU by 11
Lost at Marshall by 15
Lost at SMU by 6

Good wins: UAB(lol?), Gonzaga, UTEP by 1
4th in a weak CUSA
This guy is less than what Capel was 5 years ago.

No Capel didn't do that. I was referring to how everyone hates how Capel got blown out against every good team we played. I didn't realize Memphis would have got an at large bid to the tourney. Oh wait, they wouldn't have. But Pastner led them over Southern Miss, ECU and UTEP (who isn't bad). Why couldn't Capel have just done that in the Big 12 tournament? Oh right, he would have had to beat legit teams.
