Walker and Allen: Is there anybody else remaining that is still an active 2014 recruiting target?

OU has had some wonderful "finds" in recent late signings: Cousins in 2012 and Booker in 2013. Maybe these guys can have similar success.

Dinjiyal Walker (6-2; Combo Guard) .. Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, Iowa)

D'Angelo Allen (6-6; SF) .. Dallas, Texas (Kimball High School)

Reportedly, Allen visited OU last weekend (see link), and Walker will visit OU sometime this week. Maybe we will hear something by Friday; however, the Spring signing period runs through mid-May. I would love to get both of these guys. That would still leave two scholarships for the 2015 recruiting class.

I have tempered enthusiasm for Walker. But, we need a backup point guard. Allen will probably make a fine player for who ever gets him. I certainly hope it is us.

I think we are also still in on a fifth year transfer guard. Not sure how likely we are to get him.

A "graduated" transfer eligible to play would be ideal in many ways.
Provides depth for one year, ship is immediately re offerable for next year.
Guard depth in 2015-2016 would be
Cousins SR
Hield SR
Booker JR
Woodard JR
HS Wing signed this spring Allen hopefully Sophomore
Freshman guard signed next year Freshman
Freshman guard/wing signed next year Freshman

The problem with getting a senior transfer is that those guys are transferring to play more, most likely. They aren't transferring to come sit on OU's bench as a backup.

Is it possible that there is a senior transfer PG out there that would be an upgrade over Woodard, and make Woodard come off the bench for one season?

Why? If they player is an upgrade and could get us farther in the tourney why wouldn't he do that?

Im telling you that there are no transfer PG's out there that would come in and take over Jordans spot.

Have you heard Jelon is transferring...? why... Because LK stuck with Jordan.

I have serious doubts any of the PGs on this graduate transfer list are better than what Woodard will be as a SO.

I don't know if there is one, but if one is better then why not take a shot at him. You said LK wouldn't take a 5th year transfer to replace Woodard and I'm saying he would if he was better.

Because it starts rocking the team chemistry. LK is big on that. This could be a really long post if I went into detail, but LK has a way of doing things, and recruiting over kids like that is not a part of how he operates.

I would like to see OU go after 6'8" 240 lb transfer TaShawn Thomas who led the Houston Cougars in scoring (15.4) and rebounding (8.1) last season and was a second-team American Athletic Conference selection. He only has one season left to play and would have to petition to play next year. His release from U of H says he can't play for a school in Texas.

We need help in the post.... and a backup PG so I'm all for getting Walker.

I would rather take a guy who can compete with JW than a guy who will probably be a below average backup in the Big12.

Kareem Canty would come in and start over Jordan.

How about a solid pg that understands his role will be as the backup?

I don't want a backup that sucks, just one that will accept that role. LK is building a program here. You don't start replacing guys like Woodard with one year pg's when you are building a program.

Let's see - Coach brings in a one year guy and sits Woodard as a back-up - end of season we either get Woodard back without the added growth from playing as a starter so he is behind his Jr. and Sr. year or he Jelons to a team that doesn't shaft him for a year.
