Porter to.........Villanova???

None of those guys are coming to Norman. Period.

If Porter leaves, it will be an assistant of some kind coming. No one anyone actually wants will touch our program with a 10-foot pole. That's the facts. And Porter will go win somewhere else and everyone will regret running him out of town the same way people look back at Kelvin getting run out of town.

pretty sure many people said the same thing last go round......and we pulled in a final 4 coach ....lots of people thought it was a homerun hire at the time.
i realize things are different now.....but i'm confident there will be better coaches than pm that will want this job if it opens.

Dude just had back-to-back 20-win seasons in the toughest conferences in the country. And we want to get rid of him. Absolute idiocy.

False reality.

I think hoiberg would consider OU. While he's a nebbish alum, the program is absolute poop trash. They've never won a ncaa tourney game, I think. If they make the tourney it is an absolute miracle. While that obviously must also carry low expectations, does hoiberg want to spend the rest of his career going 17-15 yearly and permanently missing the tourney?

Also, nebbish is the exact same structure as OU, but worse. They have a football program still on life support (imagine OU football's current predicament but elongated over like 20 years - that is nebbish) and needs every single penny. With the basketball team NEVER being good ever, how much support do you think he gets there? Answer: less than OU's bball team even.

He could come to OU and actually make tourneys and heck, even leapfrog to a better job down the road, if he so chooses, and in the process, restore his brand and credibility. He is in HC purgatory at nebbish.

Idk why you worship pm so much. Does he pay you? Ha. Acting like our program cannot possibly survive PM, friggin pm...., is WILD. We survived losing LIGHT YEARS better coaches. I suspect you're a pm fan, more than an OU fan at this point.

Yeah. Since you say it’s a fact please list those coaches, and their quotes, in regards to them not wanting the OU job.
The proof will be in the pudding. But I know of at least two that people have mentioned as potential replacements that would say no in an instant. I don't owe you proof. You'll see when Crutchfield is being named the new coach.

He actually put together a 6-win season in the SEC, and an 8-win season in the Big 12. But credit where it's due: he owns the bottom of Q-4. If we had somehow drawn Alcorn State in the first round, we would be in great shape.

You're friends with hoiberg and mccollum? That's cool

Hmm strange ‘facts’ username checks out…

My best Buddy moment was that downtown 3 pointer he hit at the end of the 1st half in the regional final against Oregon. Was there and watched the Duck crowd
slowly start to leave the arena.

It truly is bizarre. I mean, even if someone doesn't think he deserves all the blame, I don't know how anyone can watch what happens on the court (setting aside NIL, arena, fan support) -- just purely looking at the 40 minutes between the lines, and be impressed with his actual coaching.

You suspect wrong. I defended Kelvin to the core back in the day - because I knew he was the right coach at OU. And that was against the majority of the people on these boards, on the radio, etc. I feel the same way about Moser. And I talk to people who are deeply connected to the program. They agree. The problem is not Porter Moser. The problem is the support he gets. It's also why we'll lose him to a basketball first school like Villanova and be mired in mediocrity.

You're new here. And you bring nothing but trash to the board. But hey, you be you.
Haha name calling. Good for you. Your boy is 26-46 in 3 years of B12 and one year of SEC conference play. Is that a good record to you? And your welcome for a new person providing you with facts, which you could not.

We are all so impressed by your sources. But if we ever forget how connected you are, at least we know that you will be sure to remind us 50 times a week.

But I'll play along. When your pro-Moser sources are singing his praises, do they identify which "problem" is responsible for the decision to sit guys like Wague and Bam and others over the years behind less talented players? Or to have Dayton glued to the bench even though he immediately flipped momentum against UK? Or who/what is at fault for our inability to run a basic inbound play or handle late-game pressure? Clearly those aren't decisions made by the head coach. I think the arena decides playing time, NIL determines inbounds plays, and the fans are at fault when we piss down our leg at the end of close games. And obviously it is a combination of those factors responsible for letting Oweh catch the ball without anyone within 10 feet of him.

If OU basketball is mired in mediocrity it’s because Joe C made another bad hire not because the job didn’t attract talented coaches.

I am pretty ambivalent about PM but can buy the argument that him leaving will help spur some enthusiasm because he’s never going to win over a segment of the fanbase (still waiting for @WichitaSooner to justify calling sophomore BH “mediocre” and make a direct comp to Elvis just to prop up LK’s genius relative to PM’s ineptitude, oh well likely in vain). Does that translate into substantial NIL/support, unlikely IMO considering underlying support during the last 25 years of OU bball and the current AD.

PM has clear deficiencies, would never expect OU to be elite (winning conference/national champs) under him even if NIL was top notch. But OU is still in the SEC and has some advantages that make it a nice place for an up & comer so not sure him leaving would doom OU to mediocrity. To be clear, they would leave IMO because OU is never going to support them.

But yes, infrastructure is so bad I imagine we’ll be pushing for KP rankings between 35-50 even with a HofF coach and people will be unable to stop bitching about the inbounding or late game defensive sets as more well resourced teams leave OU in the bottom half of the conference.

There was a big radio interview I shared with (maybe 2 years ago?) with Moser and Wright and the respect they had for one another, talked a lot. This seems to track with the Nova + Jay Wright chatter.
