Porter to.........Villanova???

You suspect wrong. I defended Kelvin to the core back in the day - because I knew he was the right coach at OU. And that was against the majority of the people on these boards, on the radio, etc. I feel the same way about Moser. And I talk to people who are deeply connected to the program. They agree. The problem is not Porter Moser. The problem is the support he gets. It's also why we'll lose him to a basketball first school like Villanova and be mired in mediocrity.
News for you, were already in mediocrity (maybe worse than that).

You can never convince me that if pm had unlimited fan support, a brand new arena, more nil, ect., that he'd magically THEN start making better coaching decisions.. there is simply no correlation. There's no barriers to pm doing that NOW regardless of all of those excuses above (and guess what, if he DID do those things.. it'd be a much easier sell to get all of those things to support pm even more).

I just 0.00% share your sentiment that the ou program cannot survive losing pm. And that we are actually FORTUNATE to currently have him. Well just have to agree to disagree

Yeah, but will Joe C hire that kind of coach?

Will Wade
Bryan Hodgson

Those are the type of as*holes you need when you're short-changing things. Self-driven, roster assembling, blurring the edges types.

Or will Joe C go all safe and buttoned up?
Sign me up for Bryan Hodgson or Will Wade. Bring in the kids and win.

Watch Iowa’s search. It’s not an exact equal but in terms of where they stand in their own conference and what they’re willing to spend on their roster it isn’t too dissimilar imo.

Edit: OU’s budget is higher, but the two leagues aren’t the same in terms of spending.

Just for fun, I went back and pulled the 10 years of Kruger at OU.....Guess which years Buddy was here and then compare the rest of those years to what Porter has done at OU....Everyone keeps points to Porter's record at OU and then jumps to making the tournament. OU clearly got lucky some of those year

Two of the worst? In a league that 14 teams made the NCAA tournament. The LSU loss was a terrible loss for sure but the 11 others were to what appear to be in the top 68 teams in the country.
We were a tourney lock in 2020. So, Lon made the tourney "only" four of the six years Buddy wasn't here. I am no math major, but is that better than one of four for Loser? But wait . . . he has never made it without Fears, so should we even count this season under some people's theories that Lon doesn't get credit because it was all Buddy?

how bout win a few more games each year? especially at home. generate some excitement.
i'd be willing to bet if pm had done that....there would be more nil money.
where do u think softball would be if gasso had never made it to the wcws?
Jeez. Stop comparing softball to basketball. Makes you look really silly.

Lol, here comes the classic Bitchita walk-back.

You’re the one who said sophomore BH was mediocre after all.

If this is the contingency plan if Porter leaves, yikes.
It's likely not considering his doomposting elsewhere in this entire issue.

There's prolly like what, 100-200 HC jobs that pay even a million a year? How many pay 4ish million? Were 1 of them. It's a tough sell to act like we cannot attract a lower HC that is better than OMAHA University or whatever school crutch is at. We've never stooped that low so idk what indy is smoking

This is the kind of intelligence I'm trying to argue with. I should just quit.
Simple mistake. He was born in Lincoln. but didn't otherwise disprove anything I said or reflect on my intelligence. The fact you latch to that is a sign of your desperation imo

I was born in Marshalltown, Iowa. I'm not going to coach at Marshalltown High School.

He grew up in Ames, went to Iowa State, coached at Iowa State
Yeah.. see this actually DOES reflect on YOUR intelligence bc you're arguing MY POINT. So thanks (That hoiberg WOULD likely leave nebbish..).

Also worth pointing out that you have not uttered a single word to refute my theory on possibly hiring him.

Genuinely who do you think would be better than Porter that OU could realistically get?

Of course he would. Just not for Norman.
