Smokescreen but hoping for it to be real.

Imo, This would be like Georgia hiring Littrell as their OC bc we showed up 1 game last year and beat Bama.. I don't think Villanova is that desperate and can field better candidates

Lol, the #1 FB program right now hiring a generationally bad OC is the comp?

Convinced some of you will be sad if OU wins on Friday. Doesn’t seem likely Nova takes him but there are certainly bad ADs out there…

it would be much more like them hiring brent then the dumster fire that was Littrell ..


don't get things twisted Moser is not a "bad" or terrible coach ..(and he has not done a "bad" or terrible job at OU overall) to use a player term he is a JAG "just a guy" coach ..

and OU basketball should have a much better coach then that .. and his best at OU (right on the bubble one side or the other) is not good enough

4 of Kelvin’s first 5 years we were squarely on the bubble. Just happened to land on the right side, with MUCH easier schedules.

Off the top of my head would say someone like Tenn (top 15-ish program) hiring Sonny Dykes (middling HC with one great year that might be due to a couple players & luck).

Not really trying to defend Moser, feel like I have to disclose that in every post or I open myself to the mob.

IMO, the "picking up steam" is only because SM accounts are starting to read it on other SM accounts and repeating the same information. I don't believe there has been any credible basketball reporter say that PM is in discussions or that he is a serious candidate. No one like a Jon Rothstein or Jeff Borzello is saying anything like this. No offense because he does have a few local connections and reports on OU basketball as well as anyone locally RN, but Lusk reporting info like this on OUI doesn't make it true. I think some of the national folks are picking up on his info and regurgitating it as their own. And vice versa.

Same thing happened last year with PM and Depaul, and before that with ND. At this point, I think it's all SM viral "news" and agent hype.

Now that doesn't mean PM wouldn't want it, but probably a lot more serious by so-called experts than it really is.

I don't think he's signed anything yet, but he's only making like $4M right now. His new deal was supposed to include a commitment to NIL and a new practice facility. Hmm, that sounds familiar- university promising better facilities to entice or keep a coach.

He would be a better fit for Nova IMO. Played at Pitt and both him and his dad have ties to coaching in the area and the Big East.

Honestly, if PM is truly interested as he thinks OU fans can turn and not show support, he or any coach has no idea how apathetic and vile fans can be in Philly and PA.
 
Yeah, not signed yet.

Maryland is having some back-and-forth about if they're a basketball school or not (resources, etc).

Never thought I would see the day Boulder wouldn't sunshine pump something with OU Hoops. My word. OU's main sports are in shambles.
 
Villanova is struggling because it is a small Catholic school and the NIL is not keeping up with their competition. However, it has traditionally been a national power in basketball. For some reason, the entire Philly area which has always been strong in hoops is struggling. Now is Porter the answer, ??????
