Porter to.........Villanova???

Yep, and I'm not sure how him bringing up a personal trip to NY with his family to the press, and talking about how that shows the program needs to change, is "fighting for my team and the program". Sounds like it is a lot more personal to him. Most of that are things that should never be said publicly or to any kind of reporter. Bad look, IMO.

With the AD leaving, can't see him staying if that's the way he feels.

And BTW, while I think he's a good coach, pretty demanding and whiny for a coach who's only been there three years and was 16-17 last year. Sounds like a diva.

He does sound like a diva. I’m not sure I would want him if I’m nova.

not a personal trip ..

he wanted the entire team to stay an extra night after they played @ Syracuse and was told 1 extra night was too expensive

it was personal in that he requested it to spend Christmas in NY. Yeah the team would be there too, but it wasn't a required trip and it was his personal idea to do it.

Oh, and by the way, both Willard and his wife is from NYC.

And he makes $4M a year... I'm sure he could afford a dozen or so rooms for one night if it was so important for team bonding.

Just sour grapes, IMO. Especially airing it out to the press.

I think he says a lot of things most coaches would say and fight for, and he’s right. I don’t think he whining at all, but stating what every coach wants from their program.

i don’t have a problem with asking for more resources but he has no tact. He threw his AD under the bus multiple times. Just say you are looking for commitments that are required to be competitive in the market we are in.

The original float of Porter's name went over like a lead balloon. But if he beats UConn tonight, that may go over a little better.

At this point, he's not winning the Villanova press conference.
He has to stick around at OU for longer and show some real success if he's going to win press conferences anywhere with a basketball pulse. That's the truth.

Had OU not gotten screwed last year and won a game or two in the tourney, he'd be in a completely different spot. But he's not. And we're not. And that's just the reality of the situation. Win tonight, and it's a start for everyone to start healing a bit.
