1. Assistant Coach- Likely Arkansas Associate HC

2. Bryce Thompson- Staff feels good. We'll see.

3. Another Transfer- Many thought Jaxon Robinson but have heard they have moved on. I havent heard anything recently. UMASS transfer? Forward?

Anyways. Hopefully another big week for the Sooners.

I wouldn’t complain if our second transfer was a long, athletic SF type.someone that would allow us to play big at the 3 or small at the 4.

CT thank you for the info. The transfer & assistant news came so fast and furious a couple of weeks ago it created so much excitement that it made the silence last week frustrating. I am happy for the coaches to wait on Thompson to decide, especially since they feel like they have a legitimate shot. But I am eager to see how this roster & staff fills out.

If we get David Patrick and Bryce Thompson, I would be fine using the last ship on Nick Thompson for goodness sake. Those two are well worth the wait.

Coach do you know the connection Moser has with Patrick and why he's looking to leave Arkansas ? By all accounts he seems to be a home run hire.

Trying not to get my hopes up with BT, under Lon it seemed we led for some big names for so long only for the rug to get taken out from under us. I know, I know new regime, new vibe.

I do not know the connection. Muss isn’t fun to work with. I’d assume Patrick knows the lay of the land in the region. Always want to hire better folks below you.

BT dad rod is a great guy. Everyone feels good about where they stand. I’m cautious optimistic. I think we’ll know very soon.

seems like they very much want a 3/4 guy for that last transfer spot .

I think a 3/4 guy who can score is our greatest need. Hill could play that position, he’s just not a proven, consistent scorer. Can he be? Absolutely. But I can see why our coaches are focused on signing another 3/4.

Just wonder if the newest of the relationship will be a hindrance to coming to OU for the Thompsons.

OU can offer playing time and a bigger role than OSU and a higher profile than TU, but I’d be surprised if BT ends up in Norman.

Is Alexander a possibility?

I'm with you on this. I think that would be ideal. IF Bryce chooses OU I might still look for a one-year transfer big (PF) type.

I keep seeing PG's on the portal news.....do we really need another small guard?

I dont think so. Bryce is going to do what he thinks is best (2nd go round)

Staff is confident. But so is OSU and TU.

What I worry about. OSU is just going to let him play, no structured offense per say. OU will run moser stuff through the big a lot. (i expect things to change a little) TU he has the keys for 25 shots.

If he went to OSU he would be their best player. they have a bunch of good role players. Avery is key. Assume he'll be back. Isaac has went backwards. Boone inside is pretty legit.

I think were least likely of the 3 bc what you mentioned. I think he left kansas bc he wants to run the show and have freedom offensively and i think Moser offers the least in that regard. But still, he would be coached the best at OU of the 3 IMO and made into his best version. And surely if BT comes in and just becomes an absolute star, surely Moser gives more leash to BT and adjusts the offense to BT somewhat

Dont think BT wants to be PG. He wants some freedom to play. a little 1v1 is where he is best. Great coaches adopts to his players. there would be a package for BT.

Porter offense allows some 1v1 at certain times.

Not in my opinion. Goldwire is a solid PG with tons of experience at a good school. Cortes and Mason are freshmen who will adapt on the fly while Goldwire runs our offense.

I may be the only person on the planet who believes Noland’s unique skill set could translate to the point guard position in a pinch, but I don’t think we’ll need to put it to the test. Add Gibson to the mix, and I can’t even imagine why we would be in the market to bring in another point guard/small guard type player.

Maybe this hire means Patrick is on the way out.

I believe this is a hire to replace former OSU player Corey Williams who left to go to Tech after being on the staff at Arkansas a couple of years.

See a common theme in the assistants under Musselman, as they leave after a couple of years, many being lateral moves?

word is the buyout for Patrick was 400k if he left before may 1st

Coaches seem to be getting into the portal business in their own fashion.

Dang espn app.

I had a notification that a hoops transfer is going to OU. Figured it was for Bryce but it was for Jacob Groves
