Post player opinion

Will any of the current post players start next year? Man, Osby and Goff are going to be tough to be out because from their style of play they seem to have the potential to mesh well...osby being able to score and goff be a tough inside presence....with fitz coming off the bench our low post presence next year is much much better
Thompson or washington probably wont see the floor much unless we go big with thompson at the three

I think Goff comes off the bench. Goff is going to have to make that transition to D1 basketball. Osby and Fitz won't.

Agreed. Goff could get it going as the year wears on, but Fitz will be a junior who has started for one full year and partially in another...he won't sit to start the season.

I'm happy that we signed him, but I want to see Goff play in an OU uniform before I jump on the post impact bandwagon. Sorry guys but Thompson just put a bad tast in my mouth for getting overly excited about JUCO guys.

Osby on the other hand I think is going be a stud.

I 100% agree but you got to look at a guys style of play.....Thompson liked to play outside in juco and to expect anything to change while at OU is silly....Goff likes to bang and we really need a banger right now

Yes I agree. I do like Goffs style of play and think it's exactly what this team needs. I remember talk about Thompson having to play out of position in JUCO by playing on the perimeter. It was on this board, but I can't recall where that info came from. When he was in the paint Thompson rebounded well, we just have to get him to stay down there.

I agree, next year should be much better. Although I am not a big fan as of yet of thompson's game...I think the main contributors next year will be:

PF/C: fitz, osby, goff
SG/SF: Clark, Taylor, Pledge
PG: Newell, new person

I know i may get ripped here but....I think next season the team could be comparable to the 2008-2009 team. Not saying there going to the elite 8 or anything but bare with me. Blake and Willie are a step above anyone we will have next season. With that said here are my player comparisons after one exhibition game.

PG: Austin Johnson/Blair or Newell
SG: WWIII/pledger or TJ Taylor
SF: Crocker/Clark
PF: Blake/Osby
C: Wright/Goff

Actually may be more comparable to 2007-2008. Either way the future looks bright. We just have to build on this year.

Yes I agree. If we can land a top tier PG that would allow Newell to play more of a scoring guard we could be pretty salty.

Thompson is going to have to get a WHOLE lot better to beat out anybody for the 3 or the 4.
