Got to see my first practice today. Really enjoyed it. I recommend anyone who has the time to go and experience it. They are pretty intense. Those guys really get after each other.

At the beginning of practice, most of the team jogged down the tunnel (I presume to scrimmage in the practice gym), but I hung back to watch Buford get a lot of one-on-one time with Crutchfield. It was a lot of shooting drills. You can tell that this kid has great touch. Great release, good arc on the ball. Crutch was having him practice what I think of as Cam Clark type moves, e.g. pump-fake the 3 and step-in for a mid-range shot. He was missing at first, but he began to knock a lot of shots down with regularity.

Watch them work a lot on breaking the press. It was obvious that they were really trying to get it to certain spots on the floor to try and take of advantage of the press defense. Hopefully, we can execute like we did in practice today and avoid games like WV.

It looked like Trey Slate was supposed to be Phil Forte. He was running around everywhere as fast as he could, cutting sharp of screens. I think I even heard of few of the players yell out "Forte!" a few times. The defense was roughing him up -- I felt sorry for the guy. It was obvious that this is a big key for the defense this weekend -- lock Forte down.

I thought Frank had a nice practice. Didn't seem to have any lingering health issues. He was knocking down a lot of shots at the end when they were practicing against zone. Looked like there was some focus on ball movement before we took a quick shot.

Let's get pumped for the next few games and get back on track. This is still a good team despite what some might think! It's interesting how a couple of losses brings out a lot of new posters. We just need to focus and move one!

Thanks for sharing.

Any observations on Dante Buford?

Buford thoughts from above post

Locking down Forte will be key Saturday and I think with Hield and Cousins we have the length and athleticism to do it. Limiting Nash will be important, too, so if Spangler and/or Thomas can push him away from the basket and force him to shoot jump shots, we should be able to control the glass and win the game.

Great! Love practice reports. Keep them coming, if you continue to go watch!

Nice practice report!!

We will dominate the Pokes and get back on track Saturday.

I'm an idiot. Thanks.

Proof of an age old proverb - there are no stupid questions in life, just stupid people that ask questions.

I cannot remember the comedian that said that, but I have always thought that was really funny. (I don't actually think you are stupid)
