Predict our conference record

I went with four wins. I considered 0-3. That, from a charter member of the "sunshine pumpers club." And as if that wasn't bad enough, it should be noted that 90% of the members on this board have no confidence in OU's ability to win even half of their conference games.

If this isn't our lowest point in thirty years or more, kindly point me to a worse time and take me out of my misery.

Are you willing to bet your posting privileges on it? If they win 4 games I will challenge you to a game of horse. lol I never thought I would miss Chris Walker so much. At least he earned his scholarship up in Ames. He was a lot better player than the juco stiff we have now that hangs out at the 3-point line and thinks he is Ralph Sampson.

How many conference games do you think Jeff needs to win in order to keep his job or do you think his job is safe even if he goes 0-16?

I really don't know what is in Joe C.'s mind, nor does anyone else, but if we were to go 0-16 I would be very surprised if Capel is the coach next year.

I don't see any way Capel is our coach next year. I think it's obvious that both sides (OU and Capel) need a fresh start.

I went with 2 wins, but I think we can win more if we develop Washington and Neal more.

Who am I kidding? When Thompson was doing well we benched him. Neal was showing stuff so he never sees the court anymore. Now that Fitz is doing well we've brought in Washington to spell him so he doesn't use up all his mojo I guess. As soon as anybody starts hitting a rythm Capel changes the lineup.

I really, really hope we win at least 5. I think we can, I really do. The kids work their butts off and I can see the flashes there. I just don't know if Capel is in it anymore.

I voted for 1 win, but looking at the schedule I can't pick where that win will come from. I don't see any way that we win any road games, so that's 0-8. I don't see us beating KU, Baylor, aTm, or Texas at home so that's 0-12.

No way we beat Nebraska...Doc Sadler is going to outcoach Capel so bad in that game it won't even be funny. They will school us on how to play defense. 0-13

CU is a possibility but they will have the 2 or 3 best players on the court when they come to the LNC, so I really can't see us winning it, but we have a chance. However, I still say we lose 0-14

Tech comes to Norman after we start with aTm at home, then AT Texas and AT Baylor. We could be coming off 3 straight 30 point losses and Tech beat us at home last year and they are the same team and we are worse. I think they win too. 0-15

That leaves the bedlam game, which I say we have a chance (cue the Jim Carrey scene from Dumb and Dumber "so your saying I have a chance?") only because it's a rivalry and on senior night. Our chances to win this game hinge on 3 factors: (1) the players cannot quit and still believe they have something to play for; (2) the assistant coaches cannot quit; (3) the press cannot be on Capel but if we are 0-15 at that point they should be all over him.

So, I'm not predicting we go 0-16 but the only games we have a chance to win are CU and OSU and our chances to win both are very very slim.

No, he didn't say exactly that. I'm just curious how anyone can predict this team to win a road game because we didn't win one last year and we had 3 burger boys on that team.

Nobody in their right mind should pick us to win a conference road game. If it happens, it would be one of the biggest upsets in Big 12 conference history.

Maybe so. I don't see it happening especially after last years dismal road performance. Therefore, when somebody says "6 or 7 games we can win" I assume those would have to be home games because nobody in their right ming would predict us to win a road game.

I don't think we can win at ISU, they have a good crowd and they've been salty this season. I would trade Baylor at home though, they've been worse than expected this year and if we can shut down Lace Dunn combined with hot shooting it seems much more winnable than a road game.

Might be interseting to see the BIG 12 conference standings prediction thread. Most people had KSU, Baylor and Mizzou high. Some even had them ahead of Kansas.
