Prediction for Trae Young Thread

Folks he's committing to OU Thursday.

Subjectively, my gut never had a good feeling about this one. Not based on anything really (thank goodness) just that we don't usually get a player of his rank, even in-staters. Well, except Blake - but we did already have Taylor here. Objectively, I give us more of a shot. However, even that's been waning lately. So my official pick is "elsewhere". Good thing I'm terrible at predictions.

I can still see it being a hard decision - so that's good. And Alvin, Wayman, Blake... Different times and circumstances, sure. But why not? :D

...

@JayJayUSATODAY: I was a fly on the wall for @TheTraeYoung & his fam's closed roundtable talk on his decision. Interesting is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
Story Tues..

I'm sure I'll get criticized on here but this individual asked to not be named and out if respect, it'd be easy to guess this person if I gave any hints. But they're very confident in the decision. I'd wager on it.

That's the Minnesota site guy. What does he know?

James Hale, according to that link, made his crystal ball pick of Trae to OU. Has he ever not picked a player to choose OU? :ez-laugh:

The Minnesota guy switched his pick from UK to KU. UK Had been out of the running for two months or more, and he just got the news? He's either dead wrong or he got the U and the K mixed up on his ballot. :D

I want to believe!

I'm just passing along what was told. They also reassured me of when people were questioning Will Sunderland , Justin Broiles, and Tre Brown too. This one has never steered me wrong, and I'd be stunned if anything but what they said happened. They did mention that KU has, by far, recruited Trae the hardest.

I'll guess KU, but that's only because I think his dad's influence ultimately wins out. The USA today guy talking about an interesting conversation is probably his dad talking about pros and cons of each school and arguing what's best for Trae.

I'll add, I expect a ton of CBs to come in tomorrow and Wednesday. If he's telling coaches today and tomorrow, someone will let it slip

The opportunity to play in front of family and friends seems to be the biggest reason for OU.. His mother wants him close... Also the decision has been back and forth multiple times, just as he had stated in the articles... Still was unsure of why his dad is still acting the way he is towards OU.

I just read it. Good information and I hope he's right. I'm still wondering if OSU isn't in it more than he says though. That whole "go pokes" tweet has me off balance.

The go pokes tweet was part of a twitter game. People message him emojis and next to those emojis he tweets what he thinks about when he thinks of that person. It was probably Lindy Waters emojis. That tweet is nothing of substance.

If he does commit to OU the offseason is going to be excruciatingly long but a pleasant one at that.

with how bad this year has gone from the long losing streak to Jordan's ACL, we could really use some good news

OU.

I just think if he was picking Kansas he'd have done so already. If it's really heart vs head, and what he and Mom want vs what Dad wants, he (and Mom) will win. He has a chance to be special at OU and do it in front of Mom & Dad and all his friends every night. He'll never get another chance like this. KU is a great program but he'd be just another guy there.

I've got no inside info whatsoever but my gut tells me he'll be wearing crimson & cream next year.
