No doubt about it. Most important recruit in a very, very long time.
I kinda like this thinking. Sometimes a kid just wants to play in front of friends and family and celebrate all of his successes together. Hope you're right Chuckb!

Sure hope you're right. I am beyond hesitant after having my heart ripped out by Peyton and Shake and Jai and Stevie (although glad we didn't get him). OU deserves a high profile point guard to build off of what Jordan is leaving.

Anyone who is a Sooner Scoop member, there is a really good Hoops Scoop article written by Joe DuVall article about Trae on Monday. One thing I didn't realize is they picked up some recruiting intensity for Trevon DuVall..... the #1 PG visited for the KU/Baylor game on 1/31 although he probably goes to Duke.
One thing that he posted is the OU staff will be "shocked" if he doesn't pick the Sooners. That's stronger than what I'd heard from a week ago that the staff felt really good where they stood with Trae.
If you can, read the SS article by Joe DuVall's article.... it will increase your hope for Trae.

Kansas fans want Duval more than they want Young. In fact, most boards I see for them want Young, but say it'll be no big deal if he doesn't pick them and they'll just move along.
It's completely different to OU where the next few years completely hinge on this one decision.

Yes, that's what he means.
Good article on his pros and cons of all the teams. It confirms what most have known, his dad is a big fan of KU/UK and not a big guy on OU/Kruger. Mom loves OU.

I can't speak for KU fans, but this could be because they've resigned themselves to the belief that he's going to OU. I may be wishcasting but it might be that they'd want Trae in a huge way if they thought he was coming there. There are many here who, as of a couple of weeks ago, were like "it's fine if he comes here and fine if he doesn't."

I've been monitoring their boards for weeks now, and the general consensus is that they would like Young, but if given the choice, they'd take Duval.
I think here people were acting like that until they saw how important he is to this team. Back when it looked like things were turning around, I think we all had the thought of "Well, maybe this group will be ok." A month later, we all realize how important Trae is to this team. If OU doesn't get Trae, we're in for some really tough next couple of years.
Best case scenario for OU would be for Trae to pick OU, Strong-Moore's shoulder heals and he can be the backup next year, and Shepherd gets to redshirt and work on his body and handles a bit and is the backup in 2 years and the starter his redshirt junior and senior years.

I think it has to do with his game tonight at Edmond. I know their student section was planning on getting in his head tonight. Norman North did lose, so wouldn't shock me if Edmond North chanted something like "overrated" or something
