After covering Tulsa, the Small Schools and Oklahoma City in previous weeks we now have our Oklahoma Player of the Year. I do not believe the player of the year winner will be a shock to anyone.

Write up by William Jennings.

It is frustrating that Capel didn't recruit Spangler at all.

You cannot tell me this young man isn't as good as most of the players on our current roster.

I cannot understand why Capel didn't even give him a glance.

I am so glad Kruger is here.

I hope Spangler has a great career at Gonzaga, but I hope OU is open to him transferring there if he would be interested.

Not many other coaches thought he could play at a high level either. I don't know if he IS as good. I guess we'll see.

We've been over this time and time again. Make a list of Oklahoma kids that OU didn't recruit that were ever big time difference makers at the D-1 level. There are kids that had decent careers. There were big time kids that chose not to go to OU, but rarely has an OU coach missed offering a kid that turned out to be a real player.

Some they just waited too long on unless my info is wrong.

Kind of fun to see Scott coaching at a school that is much like where his father coached.

If Spangler was from Baltimore or Charlotte, he would have been offered by Capel.

But Bridge Creek? Come on...no way is Capel going there to recruit. :ez-laugh:

Can't say as I blame him, though...Bridge Creek used to be pretty rough and the old gym I played in when we played BC was a dump.

GU fans are slobbering all over this write-up on their independent board. Nice work WJ!
