Even back in my day as an OU student ('77-80), they acted like they had the market cornered on "class." I think they confuse that term with basically being a one-sport school - or maybe it's having some of the worst media homers in the world in that region. As many will recall, a guy from the paper in Lawrence trashed Wayman Tisdale right after his death, based on something imaginary that I've heard from reliable sources didn't happen up there in 1984.
