so he will be sitting this season out and join the team for the 19-20 season?
Great news (though I wish he could play right away).
Yeah but 2 years with Harmon is going to be a blast!
thats what I was thinking too. the rs year sucks but since it will combine him with Harmon that may make it a blessing in disguise.
Amazing that we managed to get a kid who was being recruited by a lot of great programs. Must have just gotten lucky since we all "know" our staff is negligent when it comes to recruiting! :facepalm
Yes, congrats! A kid that two years ago wasn't ranked by any recruiting service, and who has averaged 4 and 8 ppg the last two years, is now being counted on to turn our program around in a year when we turn over a large part of our roster.
If we were getting him to fill a hole on the bench, I'd like it a lot more. If he starts for two years at OU, I think OU fans are going to be disappointed in both the player and the team over that time. Hope I'm wrong.

“We’re very pleased to have Austin join our program,” OU coach Lon Kruger said in a release sent out Tuesday afternoon. “He’s a terrific young player who shoots the ball well while also being able to create for others. He’s a versatile talent who fits exactly what we need.”
Reaves averaged 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and two assists last season at WSU. Also encouraging for OU: He shot 42.5 percent from 3, including hitting seven consecutive 3-pointers in a game against Tulsa.
Although the Sooners will lean on returner Christian James, graduate transfers Aaron Calixte and Miles Reynolds, and freshman Jamal Bieniemy to anchor next season’s backcourt, Reaves provides an encouraging complement to highly touted 2019 point guard De’Vion Harmon. That duo could shape the future of OU's program.

Those eight ppg would put him in third place among our returning scorers if he could play this season.
Oh, and he shot 45% from 3-point range in his two seasons with Wichita State.
