Refs trying to make the tournament interesting?

I agree in principal but they are still horribly inconsistent with it. On Friday, they called a foul on Christian James when a player stopped in front of him. James stopped and barely touched him. He didn't reach and there was no issue of James impeding his freedom of movement, but they called the foul anyway. Less that 2 minutes later, there was a similar play when we had the ball - no whistle was blown.

I agree. And I definitely feel like the refs---be it consciously or unconsciously---tend to get wrapped up in creating the "Madness". Just in OKC alone, I think you saw that on display. And I'm not even talking about the OU games. They let A&M get extremely aggressive with UNI in the second half. I also thought they let UNI body Texas up a little more than the other way around.

Yesterday, they called an off-ball foul on VCU a few minutes into the game, believe it was on whomever was guarding Hield. Was a great sign b/c they called two to three more the rest of the game.

I would just be very interested in average foul disparity for teams leading with 10 minutes to go. In the OU and A&M games it was something like 14-6 in favor of the trailing team.

Even though they didn't make it interesting it wasn't for lack of effort. In all fairness though the foul discrepancy in the 2nd half had more to do with our loss of effort on defense, they played more aggressive on offense, and we took mostly long jump shots. I just remembered this thread at half and mentioned it to my wife and at one point they were shooting double bonus and had only fouled us twice or something like that. Have to keep the conspiracy alive, lol.

Exactly.. in February when we loved the 3 Prolly too much then sure.. but tonight was kinda junk
