Reger Dowell gone as well

They saw what our football team was doing and decided to try and one-up it?

Prima donna attitudes ruining team chemistry. I think they are having problems similar to what we had with at least two particular players thinking they are the shizzle. Just a hunch.

BTW, wasn't Reger the last remaining member of the `09 recruiting class?

Yes, they signed 7 (only 6 made it on campus) and they're all gone.

Their APR will be the equivalent of D-Days GPA....0.0

They deserve at least one (hopefully more) lost scholarships because of all these guys leaving.

Ford has proven to be terrible at evaluating talent for his program. Wow.

I think the APR thing is ridiculous. I don't think teams should be punished for players not graduating. Obviously kids should have to maintain a certain minimum GPA over a minimum number of credit hours to remain eligible to play, but it's not the schools' fault when a kid drops out or goes pro or whatever.

Whoopsy! '09 class was quite the bust.

I'm not 100% sure but the APR isn't JUST graduations, correct? Academic standing of the player when they leave, be it transferring or going pro, has something to do with it, right?

My understanding of APR

Each scholarship player gets 2 points each semester. They complete the semester, still on the team, graduate, exhaust eligibility, etc, 2 fulls points.

If they leave (pro or another school) while still eligible they get 1 out of 2 points.

If they leave and aren't eligible, example TMG, 0 of of 2 points.'

Disclaimer: I dont have a clear understanding of NCAA rules, but I think I am on the right path with the APR guess.

I was really impressed with Ford's recruiting. Looks like that was seriously premature.

Wow.

His entire first recruiting class is now gone.

Can we bring back the "bag over head" icon?

For now, this will do: :facepalm

If it makes you feel any better, Baylor's 2009 class was a bust also.

1. Givon Crump- transferred to Fresno State- not good enough to make rotation.

2. Dragan Sekelja- transferred to Florida Atlantic- sitting out year for transfer

3. Mark McLaughlin- transferred to Seattle University and then quit the team after averaging 7 pts per game.

4. Nolan Dennis- transferred to Detroit; I mean TCU; I mean... after open gyms to play hoops with the "guys" coaches are having buyer's remorse realizing he can't play.

5. AJ Walton- role player but a good defensive guard.

6. Cory Jefferson- redshirt sophomore who is getting spot duty this year but expected to be a big part of Baylor's plans as a junior and senior.

You hyped Dragan to no end.

sam, your apr understanding is accurate, but there are also a number of seldom publicized exemptions and loopholes.

although it sounds slightly rigorous at first glance, it is actually pretty difficult to fall outside of the accepted apr, unless you have multiple players leave while academically ineligible.

you are right. He was a total bust. Had the talent but a complete slacker- didn't work hard. The coach that told me Dragan was going to be a Croatian nightmare for opponents was also responsible for getting Brady Heslip and Pierre Jackson to Baylor to help fix some of the mistakes of the 2009 class. So far I like those guys a lot so I forgive the Dragan hype.

And a special thank you to Boston College for kicking Brady Heslip to the curb at their last coaching change. I bet they wish they could have a do-over on that as they sit at an RPI rating of 272 and one of their starting guards shooting 29% from the field and 28% from 3.

Meanwhile Brady is averaging 11 pts and shooting 49% from 3 and 100% from the free throw line. Thanks Boston College!!!
