It would not shock me to see Clark (or any of the underclassmen) leave, but judging from what people close to him on this board have posted over the past year, honestly I'd be less surprised to see Clark leave if Capel stuck around.

I think more than anything he's just expressed how close him and Capel were and that it was obviously one of the big reasons he came to OU. Like I said, I think he's just hurt by the decision and little bit indecisive on where he wants to be next year. The few coaches that I spoke with said they weren't putting any stock in it and that it's way to early to tell. Sounds like he's just speaking outta frustration more than anything, I sure hope we can keep him!

why don't you just tell us who the rumors are about, I'm sure a lot of this will calm down anyway after hopefully we make a good hire. Based on the roster we had you would think having a couple kids transfer wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

anyway doesn't sound like Cam since Kline was the reason why he came to OU, not Capel.

I have absolutely no comprehension of how Peters could have been of recruiting age when he committed to us, and yet still be taking as long as he is taking to arrive in Norman.

I've never seen a comparable example. He's been committed to us for, what, two years at least? And yet he doesn't arrive in Norman until 2012 (if at all)?

I have no idea what he actually could eventually contribute, but I can't get too upset if he's disappointed at Capel being fired. He's nothing but a mirage to us at this point. He's Big Foot, Paul Bunyan, the Tooth Fairy.

Sky, I've had similar thoughts about Peters, although not nearly as creative or funny.

If I'm not miistaken he was a 2010 recuit when he committed to OU, before moving to the 2011 class and will now come in with the 2012 class. Peters has to be the most anticipated recruit in OU history, outside of Kyle Hardrick who committed when he was barely out of diapers. I have no clue what to expect from this kid? By all accounts he's good. But I don't know how he stacks up with former bigs or who he could be compared to as a barometer in guaging his skill level? I have searched for a video but can't find one.

I agree, Tony. I got the impression that at least one member of Clark's camp was not too happy with the way he was used in Capel's offense.

But even if Cam is the player he meant, that could easily blow over when the dust clears and unveils a new coach with plans for the future. This reaction is not uncommon when a popular players' coach gets the axe. I'll be shocked if anyone on this team who is expected to to be a major contributor next season will be willing to transfer and sit out a year.

Read his post right before yours. He says it's cam

At this point, Peters may not even fit into the new coaches scheme. And, considering he's a Capel recruit, he would probably not be as good as expected (Allen, Willis, Thompson, Newell, etc.) or wouldn't stick around anyway (Taylor, Maze, Neysmith, Early, etc.).

Best of luck to the kid and he is re-recruited by the new coach and decides to come to Norman, I hope he's prepared to work his butt off and get after it and learn how to play winning basketball.

It will definitely be interesting to see what transpires in the next few weeks.
I'm hearing that with the NCAA sanctions becoming such a hot topic as of late and of course the release of Capel that we could be losing a major contributor next year per a few AAU coaches in DFW area. Let's hope the youngster is just jumping the gun and hurt that he lost his coach and nothing more. It's gonna be pretty hard to get excited for next year but I definitely understand the change and hope we can be back by 2012. Anyways I'd like to know what everyones thoughts are on this line-up and of course how many games we might possibly win.

We heard the same thing when Blake left. Make a good hire and the players will take care of themselves.
