How about 2 mil a year for a proven winner. He can build programs, recruit top players, stresses defense etc. He's made something out of nothing at St. Louis. Made them competitive for the 1st time in the A-10. A success at Utah and Marquette.
Maybe Capel needs to go before OU gets into a hole that will take years to get out of.
As the season ends, OU is hands down the worst team in the Big 12. Colorado and Iowa State at least look like D1 teams.

Majerus is a great coach but has a lot of quirks. I'm not sure that he would be a good fit at OU.

Sounds like a brilliant plan, throw $2,000,000 per year at a coach who hasn't been around for a while, and who left his last job becuase of his health.

An even better plan is bringing in a guy Billy Clyde, who is just as likely to end up knee deep in his own vomit at a sorority house as he is to make it to his own practices.

You know, Tubbs is still breathing, maybe we could talk him into coming back and reliving the glory days...like when we had great players and were making deep tournamnent runs [or basically last season].

For all the Caple bashing, I want everyone to look at Coach K's first 4 years at Duke. 2 losing seasons, one mediocre season in the NIT, and one season in the NCAA tourny, making it to the 2nd round. Sounds a lot like the guy we have now. not saying Caple will be as good as coach K, but he is still young. He needs more time

Not sure about Majerus or any other coach at this time. I will say however, Nolan Richardson is in Tulsa coaching the WNBA????? All coaches have baggage and would be silly to think otherwise.

Soonerbounce - the only person on this board with any basketball smarts. Wish I could sit around all day and make comments about others on boards. Ban me I do not care! The Nolan Richardson comment was a joke But I will say that the problems in Norman start at the top and maybe a change needs to be made. Let's see this coach called out players all season and only toward the end of the year starting to take some blame. I simply do not care what you think about my post, but at least I am a honest enough to see it for what it is!
