We are really dumb for not offering this kid..in our own backyard. He obviously would have made a difference this year. But that Casey Arent kid is amazing I tell ya..

How was Kruger suppose to offer Spangler when he wasn't coach here when Spangler signed

Wanna know what's worse? Not offering Tyrus McGhee, the kid from Stringtown, who happened to be C. J. Washington's former teammate.

Ya think we could have used a guard who can score on the drive and shoot threes? :facepalm

I don't see how not offerring Spangler who averaged 2.6 ppg and 2.2 rpg is such a tragic loss in recruiting. He also shot 45.5 % from the FT line.If Capel had offered this kid everyone on here would have ripped him.

I agree. People say things like Tyler Neal should be recruited over and he posted better numbers than that.

Spangler is better than Neal. He is a true freshman.

As best I can tell with OU fans everyone is better than the OU players unless they are so freaking good you cannot even debate the point (Blake Griffin, Wayman Tisdale, etc.). I don't follow any other schools but in my opinion OU fans tend to have a pretty negative opinion of their program and conference.

Gonzaga is 26-6 and going to the second round of the NCAA Tourney, after a 23 point victory over West Virginia. Ryan had 4 points on 2 of 3 shooting, and 8 rebounds in 21 minutes of play. He is behind a 2 year letterman, 6'7" Elias Harris and a 3 year letterman, 7'0" Robert Sacre. Spangler was a Parade All-American. He will play a lot next year-his stats will reflect that increased play...

...I hope he does. Pretty sure about 99.9% of the posters on this board were wanting OU to get more involved with the kid than we were during the recruiting process.

He is "behind" more than 2-3 guys if he was only averaging 6 minutes per game.

Spangler has had a few monster games this season as a freshman.

In a one-on-one game straight up between Tyler Neal and Spangler, my money is on Tyler.

You do realize that Tyler Neal was better than him as a true freshman as well?

Tyler Neal is a fine player. We will be happy to have him by the time he's a senior.

So what if Spangler wanted to transfer to OU ? Sit out next yr and play in 13/14. If that happened the whole board would be happy, I sure would.

I wouldn't HATE the idea, but I certainly wouldn't be "happy" about it. Is he really any better than Cole is projected to be?
