Anyone go to the scrimmage? I was hoping someone would chime in on what they saw and think. I couldn't make it but did listen to Kevin Henry this morning on the TROW show give his assessment. Sounded pretty positive. Toby has been hyping Fears as a future NBA player, and Henry agreed he looks the part. A little surprised Henry and Toby seem to think Fears is going to be the point and the older guys back him up at point and play more regularly on the wing. We will see, but I sort of figured Kobe would run the point and they would put fears on the wing.
One of the things I noticed at the scrimmage I watched, Kevin Henry mentioned about the Taylor kid. You can always tell a kid know "how" to play basketball when he is efficient in his movements. He thought Taylor just played like he knew how to play ball. I thought that about Taylor, Dayton, Fears, mills and Kobe. They all knew how to flatten in the lane to get their space to shoot, got aggressive offensively only when the access to rim went all the way to the rim and didn't seem to get stuck in no man's land much, knew how to change gears/speeds, and didn't carry out a "plan" to shoot or pass and get stuck in that decision where circumstances changed when they started their move, but rather let the right decision develop from an initial move to score the ball and were very natural passing the ball to open guys with better looks.
