Carey Murdock(rivals) says he thinks Shake Milton will end up at OU after the SMU debacle. I thought that was pretty interesting. I would sure love to get this kid to Norman I've always thought he would fit Krugers system so well.

That would be a lot of wing players, unless they believe Shake can play point. Wasn't that why he went to SMU so he could play point?

He's already in school at SMU and it's too late to begin the fall semester at OU. What would he do? Transfer at the semester without ever playing at SMU? Could he be eligible at the start of the 2nd semester at OU? I'm guessing he could transfer but would redshirt this year and be eligible next year.

Just too many questions. Carey has never followed basketball so I don't know where he would get his information?

I think he is basically the same player as Kameron McGusty, and I don't want to rock that boat.

I am not sure I recall the time line correctly. Is Shake a true freshman?

If so, I would think he could redshirt, leave at semester and might be immediately eligible due to recruiting violations and/or SMU might just release him to look better to the NCAA. Players should be able to transfer when teams go on probation. It should be another aspect of the penalty. That is, you risk losing your good players as they become highly regarded transfer candidates to good teams looking for a certain piece.

I just don't see it. Unless OU Misses out on another point in the next recruiting class. I thought he was a wing, that wanted to play point.

As other posters have stated, that would be a lot of wings on the roster.

If a guy chooses Larry Brown i gotta question the guy a little bit. Brown is trash

Yes, he's a true freshman already enrolled at SMU and attending classes. If he wants to transfer, he shouldn't play this semester and then leave. I'm not sure if he could play immediately even if SMU releases him. I doubt it.

That's why I said to redshirt this season. If he leaves at semester I know he could become eligible at the start of 2nd semester next season with a chance at being eligible all next season.

I don't think he could play anywhere but SMU this season. JMHO.

Would OU even want him now? I sure wouldn't make him any promises.

I thought the NCAA let people transfer w/o sitting out if their school was put on probation.

Bingo! Now if he plays this year at SMU and then wants to transfer and sit a year obviously. I would take him.

Coach, any chance he could potentially be a PG? I don't know enough about his game. If there was a probable chance he could be a capable PG or combo, the door would have to be wide open, right?

I do not think PG at all. Maybe for a slow it down half court offense but not for what we do. And too my knowledge, smu promised that chance and OU didn't. LK isn't going to lie to a kid.

No appeal. Surprised

Glad Carey thinks so but I won't believe it until the great Dean Blevins says it's happening

I doubt if Carey Murdock has ever talked to Shake Milton or Lon Kruger. He was just guessing and some people thought he had some insight. The only staff member at SoonerScoop who ever covered basketball was RJ Young, and he is no longer on staff.

Josh McCusition does a great job with football recruiting, and the new guy Joe DuVall is beginning to step up. Eddie Radosevich does OK but it seems like Carey Murdock is kind of fading away as he does more radio.
