Shawn Long visiting this weekend?

Judging by his Mid-Major offers (only), is this a guy we should be excited about?

If Miss St is recruiting him then I would count them as NOT a mid major.....and if they didn't offer they were interested enough to bring him in. Besides, half the final four this year were teams full of 'mid-major' players.

From the films I've seen of him, he runs the floor well, has a decent two handed dunk, and has a very impressive three point stroke.

Didn't see much handles on him and I expect his vertical might be a little suspect but the guy appears to still be growing (he seems to be about 230 # now) so it's worth the coaches making an evaluation.

how does this one compare to grandy glaze? and in seems that kruger, other than grooms, has been looking mostly at bigs. he must be seeing something in pledger or newell that he likes or he thinks that clark can play the #2.

Two other things LK might see/know:

- Not that many guards left to recruit. Seems like there are more serviceable bigs left.

- Maybe LK is confident in some guards he is recruiting for next year.

Yeah, and you guys all had to eat crow when you made those jokes about Jersey Gates last year...

This made me laugh.

This is from back in March from the same guy. Kinda doubt what Shawn's brother is saying.

***Morgan City senior forward/center Shawn Long had an in-home visit this past week with UL head coach Bob Marlin and assistant coach Kevin Johnson. Long previously had an in-home visit with Tulane. He recently picked up offers from Wyoming and Pepperdine. His brother Courtney Long claims that Long also got offered by Texas, Baylor, Memphis and Arkansas. Recruiting has picked up since Long made an unofficial visit to UL in the fall.

Looks good to me!

Its hard to look bad in a 1 min highlight video. I could make a 1 min video and make Thompson look good. this is why coachs watch practices and games live and on tape

I rather keep Thompson for 1 more year and then find someone else in the 2012 class, then get this kid.

No thanks. I'd rather give the ship to Franklin or Honore' than to be frustrated by Thompson's play another season.

As for this Long kid, he didn't look that bad to me. All I know is that athletic 6' 10" recruits don't exactly grow on trees. Since we don't have enough video information to make a proper evaluation, guess we'll have to trust LK and his staff to make the right decision. But a kid who averaged 21 points, 15 rebs and 6 blocks per game as a junior in high school, appears to be worthy of at least a close look.
