If we can play good team ball, keep James on his streak, control the tempo think we'll be good.

If we can take what we did against the Irish and bottle it many of our basketball wishes will come true.

The ND game was a total team effort. Even our 15 of 29 (52%) shooting from three was mostly by committee: Manek 5 of 8; James 3 of 8; Freeman 3 of 6; Calixte 2 of 2; Reynolds 1of 3; Bieniemy 1 of 2. Who said this team didn’t have enough three point shooters?

I would be a fool to expect hot shooing like that in every game, maybe in another game this season. But, this team proved that staying in a zone or doubling down on one or two players could be a big mistake. These players are sharing the ball as a team, the same way they’re playing defense. This is TEAM basketball at its best!

Wichita is a shell of themselves from previous years. They are in total rebuilding mode right now. According to Sagarin, they are just a few spots up from North Texas. We shouldn't have too much trouble, but still need to play well.

good points. Like someone else had mentioned during the ND game I was a little worried when they were shooting so well. The whole reason they have been successful so far this season has been because of the defense. Those nice shooting streaks are fools' gold. You can't rely on those. You put your focus on your defense and assume that the shooting percentages will balance out - meaning fewer of those shots will drop later.

lol..true. I don't think the 3pt % will be a norm..but the def effort can always be.

I'll be stunned if this isn't a close game, even if we play well. Wichita State is incredibly young but arguably more talented than the past few years. A month ago, they probably wouldn't have been ready to play us, but they will give us a very good game, unfortunately.

We had good looks from the outside throughout the game and took advantage of it, but in a number of other games there were players, like Manek, who weren't able to get their shot off without someone clearly in his face. Hopefully the Notre Dame game was a function of good ball movement, and if so, then it needs to continue. I don't expect 3 point shooting like which occurred the other night to become the norm but getting open shots, like which occur in everyday practice sessions, can be had in future live game action.

I thought McNeace was good to go? No?

WSU is not the same team from the past several years. They’re in a rebuild. Still dangerous if we don’t take care of business tho.

I thought Lon said McNeace was going to play. Is that not right?

heard yesterday he'd play but nothing today.

ND played a lot of zone. It'll just depend. I thought we kind of played into their hands and kept shooting early in 2nd half. The lanes were huge and we settled for outside shots. We dropped a little, would have liked to see some driving just cause the zone was very wide.

I think it'll be a "successful" year just because they seem more like a team..everyone involved.

My guess is it'll be cool close. Tough to beat a quality program on the road, even if they are rebuilding this year.

toby rowland says that Lon says mcneace will test his ankle in warm-ups and will be a game time decision.

If OU can repeat their hot shooting..it should be a win...if not toss up game

Painful to watch. Good news is that good D can keep you in games like this.
