So much for starting tournament time strong.

The season may come to a swift and ugly end very soon.

only knock one can really make about Kruger so far is he has not had OU playing very well in the conference tournament and that carried over to the ncaa tournament last year...

Not wanting to overreact it is a bit scary - wonder if we end up losing this game by a bunch if it possibly may even drop us to the 6 line.

That would be pretty sad if that happens

Good news is hardly anyone is watching this game, so if we get it to single digits it shouldn't drop us below 5.

True, but it makes me not want to
Pick them far at all because of the lack of hustle. I think Tony Perkus needs to cancel their lunch "due to lack of hustle"

I was worried about this game and I'm very disappointed by our performance, but there's no reason to assume we won't come out breathing fire in the Big Dance. There's something about the end of the season and the start of tournament play -- sometimes fortunes reverse during that brief break. You see it all the time.

But they can easily reverse field again before the NCAA tourney.

I'm proud of the guys for not giving up and making Baylor sweat down the stretch. Moral victories suck, of course, but hopefully it's something the guys can build on going into March Madness.

im broken hearted about this game.. im afraid we will get punched in the mouth in the first round and be one and done... who knows at this point...

Historically, the selection committee seems to ignore post-season tournaments. It always feels good to win them, but doesn't seem to improve a teams seeding unless a real Cinderella gets into the big dance because they win one.

This is still a team with no players who have successful experience in the post season. They closed out the regular season much better this year than last year. It's a 2 steps forward and 1 step back learning process. This was one step back. Time to take another 2 steps forward.

At what point this season did we come out flat two games in a row?

Have a little faith in our guys. They could have folded their tents and called it a night, but they didn't.

Don't you think this loss will be on their minds over the next week? Don't you think it'll provide all the motivation they might need, and then some?

We only have 1 win over a top 30 team all season. Truth be told we should provably be a 7 seed.

We'll soon find out if the Big XII was really good or simply very balanced mediocrity.

This^

We'll find out a lot about every conference though. Well, maybe not the SEC cause theyre likely getting only 3 teams in the tournament

I hope we are a 6 seed. It's a better draw than a 4 or 5, usually. If we don't play as well as we're capable of, it won't matter who we play because we'll get beat.

On the plus side, there usually isn't a correlation between teams with strong conference tournament play and strong NCAA Tournament play or vice versa. It's hit-or-miss. Just look at us through the years. We got to the second weekend in 1999 and 2009 without winning a game in the conference tournament. It was vastly different in 2006 and 2013. Conversely, we had great tournament runs in 1998 and 2001 only to bow out in Round 1 of the NCAA Tourney. We also had great tournament runs in 2002 and 2003, and finished with 7 combined NCAA Tourney wins those two years. In other words, there is no consistent pattern.

There is one consistent statistic, though. Forgetting the conference tourney, we played terrible down the stretch in both 2006 and 2013, so when we laid an egg in the Dance, it wasn't much of a surprise. This year, we played our best ball down the stretch, so I would be genuinely surprised if we don't bring it next week.

I agree with Skyvue's overall assessment...and his optimism!
