So who do we pick to support in the NCAA's?

Example: you watch -- this year both the Big 12 and Big East will get 7 teams in the Tournament... I'll bet a large sum of money that, on the whole, the Big East teams will get better seeds. Why? Because it is perceived as a more powerful conference, no matter what the numbers say.

If this is indeed what you think will happen--which I think you are wrong--then every member of the Selection Committee needs to be fired. The Big 12 has done just as good as the Big East over the last several years (since 2002) in the NCAA Tournament. Not to mention, many believe the Big 12 is the best conference in the country this season. I suspect quite a few on the selection committee suspect that as well.

I agree with you, perception does matter. If we were talking about the SEC compared to the Big East then you'd be on to something. But I think the Big 12 has done good enough over nearly the past decade that if the Selection Committee were to undervalue the Big 12 way more compared to the Big East, then they are doing a poor job.
