They have a lot of depth at those two outfield positions. They have Tori Nirschl who has been All ACC for two years, Ms. Clutch in Callie Parsons who was All College World Series in 2013 including having one of the most clutch hits in Sooner history with the game tying hit against Tennessee in the finals, Erin Miller who was knocking the cover off the ball in the Fall, and Leslie Miller who hit the hardest home run that I have seen last year against Baylor against a 35 mph wind.

There is no doubt that Kady had a great run at the start of conference play and was crucial for the team last year with Lauren out until the unfortunate injury against Texas Tech. Her return will be a huge gain for the team. What I don't know is how an ACL injury impacts hitting. However, in the mean time this team has more depth than almost any team.

I predict the outfielders besides Nicole Pendley who Gasso has pretty much named as the starter in CF will Erin Miller and Callie Parsons.

Anytime Patty says she's loaded, I believe her.

She said this team is like the 2013 team with no weaknesses. Kind of scary to here that.

By the way, Lauren Chamberlain being health is the biggest thing. She is the best hitter of all time. I think her hand-eye coordination and bat speed are just amazing. She is like the natural.

Kady was consistent against Big Twelve pitching, very consistent. I have seen something in the others, but we played JCs in the Fall. I want to see how they do against real pitching. I thought Callie was clutch in the WS two years ago, as well as in the playoffs. I liked Erin in the playoffs last year. But, Kady was special.

I don't know that an ACL will affect her swing. It may affect her ability to get moving out of the batter's box and her fielding by making her a step slower. I just like having hitters in Lauren's class, and I know that Pendley and Kady were there.

I completely agree. Lauren has the best swing I've ever seen in softball.

Lot of torque on the legs getting the hips through on the swing. By the way, Lauren spent a lot of time with Kady in the batting last year before she got that first start at Iowa State.

They smoked Arkansas in Fayetteville in the Fall - it wasn't just JCs.

I am more concerned about that torque in the case of a back injury. I wonder if Lauren will have her power back enough to get to those 19 that she needs.

Two games against Arkansas are not quite enough of a sample. Better than nothing.

Kady is a different type of hitter than is Lauren or even Pendley. I think of Lauren as more of a Hank Aaron type swing. Pendley is similar. Kady reminded me more of the Carew type swing, very economical, very specific.

I am excited about this year, and I think Patti is right. The tools are there for another run, perhaps even more dominant than in 2013. I would love to have Kady in the mix. It would comfort me.

It's an early morning but the 2015 season is almost here; the bus is rolling toward the airport and the #Sooners are heading to Hawaii!

She had her power in the NCAA playoffs last year. That was with a bad knee and the back issue. She hit .407 (11-27) with 4 HRs and 7 RBIs in eight NCAA Tourney games last season. The one off the scoreboard in the deciding game in the Supers vs. Tennessee was something - it was like the natural.

Patti said she is hitting just like always and they go live against our pitching staff which is one of the best. She also said that playing in the field is a bigger concern for the back.

Again, if I needed a hit at the end of a game or clutch situation - I would prefer Lauren at the plate over anybody in the history of women's softball. Truthfully, there is no hitter in Lauren's class not Shelby or anyone else. By the way, you are going to be stunned at how good Nicole Pendley is.

I know very little about softball other than basic stuff. So, I'm looking forward to just sitting in the stands, munching on a hotdog and enjoying the spring and summer weather.

I won't be thinking anything except fun.

Nicole Pendlet in cf, Parker dp, and Arnold 3b are freshmen in lineup!
