Paige and Nicole have shown that they can hit. Nicole has speed. I like the way Paige hits, low line drives---ropes.

It looks like Kady is OK. She lined a rope to left.

Yeah, everybody said that you couldn't get Nicole or Paige out in HS or summer ball. Nobody would pitch to Paige and Nicole can hit Shelby but has the speed to slap and bunt which puts your defense in a tough spot. You can't come up to play the bunt without putting your life on the line if she swings away. Only concern with Kady must lateral movement for the outfield.

Hawaii beat DePaul 8-0 in 5 innings. The OU game should start on time.

Nicole Pendley saved a HR for Shelby by jumping up to catch a ball hit by Leisa Lilli, the Hawaii first baseman, that was out---almost. They turned it into a long single and an out at second.

I think Lauren had a bad game in the second game:
two walks
two rbis
two singles
2 for 2
no home runs

We finally broke through in the sixth with a single by Erin, doubles by Ellis and Self off the wall in right center, a sac fly by Hatfield into deep left, and a two-run single by Lauren.

Pendley allowed 2 hits, had 10 strikeout, one walk and hit 3 batters.

We've got to have a talk with Kady. Twice with runners on first she hit a grounder between first and second to hit the runner the first time and barely missed her the second.
We had someone picked off of third base. Escaped a rundown and I think it was Lauren who was sliding hard at least twice-makes me shudder.

As slowly as the ball was hit, I don't see how the runner couldn't avoid it. I don't think she looked at it. Lauren wasn't exactly picked off base. She was on third when they had a squeeze play, and the hitter missed it. She was lucky to make it back to third.
