Softball

Back to softball --

The RPI continues to be bizarre and stupid. The Sooners demolished Texas Tech 3 straight times and fell a spot. Texas Tech, meanwhile, rose from 51 to 44.

Let's be specific on how stupid that is.

#6 Arizona State actually leads the Pac 12 (4-1), we beat them.

#7 Tennessee just lost three straight to #8 South Carolina who now leads the SEC.
#9 OU beat South Carolina twice.

All of the teams ranked ahead of OU are Pac12 or SEC teams that are behind Arizona State and South Carolina in their conferences.

With this logic, Kansas should be #1 since they are last in the Big Twelve, either them or Texas Tech.

OU beats Baylor behind 2 hitter by Paige Parker. Paige did an great pitching job as she did not have her best control and was getting behind most of the hitters all night. Knowing how to hold a .348 hitting team with 2 hits and 2 BB's less than your "A" stuff is outstanding.

Never gets tiring when Sooners beat the hypocrites!

Fale! Fale! Fale!

Sooners run rule the hypocrites, 9-0 in five. Combined no-hitter by Lopez and Lowary.

Four of the top 5 are PAC teams.

Big-12 Teams
07 .. Oklahoma
14 .. Baylor
25 .. Texas
32 .. Oklahoma State
47 .. Texas Tech
62 .. Kansas
67 .. Iowa State

After 3 road games at Baylor, the Sooners are on the road for 8 of the next 12 games. OU has an interesting Non-Conference ROAD trip later in April ...

Tue, Apr 17 ... @ Tulsa (60 in RPI)
Thu, Apr 19 ... @ Oregon (2 in RPI)
Fri, Apr 20 .... @ Oregon State (15 in RPI)
Sat, Apr 21 ... @ Oregon State (15 in RPI)
Wed, Apr 25 ... @ North Texas (160 in RPI)

Did Baylor actually rise by losing three to OU?

Probably. Not only losing but getting spanked!

RPI is a joke and should be no more than a tool in determining seeding instead of almost a blanket seeding process.

NORMAN — Due to anticipated inclement weather this weekend in Ames, Iowa, the Big 12 softball series between No. 2/2 Oklahoma and Iowa State has been moved to Norman at Marita Hynes Field.

The three-game series will now consist of a Sunday (April 8) doubleheader with games at noon and 2 p.m. CT. The series will conclude on Monday (April 9) with first pitch set for noon.

Season tickets will be honored at all three games, and season ticket holders will receive an email with more information later this week. All other fans can purchase general admission tickets beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT Wednesday. Tickets can be ordered online or by calling (405) 325-2424 or toll-free at (800) 456-GoOU.

All three games will be streamed online through SoonerSports.tv.

Currently 31-2, the Sooners have won 22 straight games and are undefeated at home this season. Most recently, OU swept No. 15 Baylor in Waco, Texas, as it outscored the Lady Bears 18-1 over three games.

Pukes #32 got beat by Tulsa #60 4-7 Thursday. Not good for the OU RPI with the pukes in position to get ranked in the top 25 with a strong finish. Oh well we should be safe for a home super-regional regardless.

OSU lacks pitching. You just can't do it without any competence on the mound.

We will be safe for hosting a super regional when they announce we are top 8. Not before. Not as long as ESPN/SEC is in charge
