Sporting News Best and Worst

Here are the relevant parts to save you all some time, but the whole article is a quick read.
Teams that underachieved
1. Michigan. The Wolverines had back nearly the entire roster from an NCAA team—and finished under .500. Ugh.
2. Texas. This isn't a bad time to remind everyone Sporting News was right about the point guard issue. But the Longhorns know they were better than this.
3. The Pac-8. Washington and California can leave the room. The rest of you: Pick it up!

Players who disappointed
1. Willie Warren, Oklahoma. Everyone who dismissed him as a "me" guy in high school had reason to gloat.
2. Tyler Smith, Tennessee. Even before he got himself booted from the team, he was too concerned about his NBA prospects. When will players learn winning takes care of all that nonsense?
3. Deonta Vaughn, Cincinnati. Great at scoring points against average teams but nowhere to be found at big moments.

If you were looking for analysis there isn't much of it in this article. I think there was a lot more going on with Willie and our team than people realize. I guess the national media will just chalk it up to Willie being selfish

Issues have to be reduced to very simple terms for a journalist to comprehend. Quick and dirty is their credo.

yeah I don't think that's fair either. WW wasn't the end-all, be all of our problems and from what I saw he wasn't even in the top-3.

Now, him being more consistently effective would have helped things - but there were other things that contributed to that.
