If you can be on the cusp of playing for a title at VCU, why would you need to leave?

but Joe won't go back to that well again, we won't go after him
I think some of these mid major coaches are going to start to learn from the "Butler model".
1. you're in the final 4, what is a "step up professionally" from that?
2. money doesn't buy job security
3. again, you're in the final 4, so you obviously have decent players where you are
4. you made the final 4 without "better facilities", so who cares?
5. Very debatable
6. you made the final 4 in a conference that is easier to compete in. Why would you want to go to a conference that is more difficult to compete in?
7. Again, debatable. B Stevens is in the final 4 two years in a row at Butler
where do you people come up with this stuff?
You DO realize this means that Joe will let what people think of him be a greater priority than who is the best coach?
there is not a single statement made anywhere to verify what you said. a few of you just made it up to justify your own choice.
I said it, only it was not to justify my own choice. Now that Buzz is off the table I would love to have Shaka Smart. Admittedly this is pure speculation, but I think looking to VCU for our next hire will be more of a psychological barrier for Joe. Narrowminded logic on his part to be sure. Still, that's the way I see it.
the vcu run is a 1 in 100 shot.
smart has been the benefactor of lucky 3 pt. shooting .
look at their regular season stats and their conf. standings.
smart's 15 minutes will be up next week.
