Sterling Gibbs: Should he play again this season?

I would have said 4 games, but certainly not the remainder of the season. It was a heat of the moment thing, and as long as that's not part of a pattern of poor behavior, chalk it up to a bad mistake and let's move on.

Shut him down for the next couple weeks, let him return for the conference tournament. When Xavier-Cincinnati fought, the schools extended bans beyond the fighting punishment because it was the right thing to do, I'm sure Seton Hall will do that here.

Why not just follow the NCAA rules rather than making up an arbitrary rule?

Because some institutions don't want that happening. The Xavier-Cincinnati was a complete debacle and embarrassed both institutions, teams, fanbases etc. The NCAA doesn't take into consideration those factors.

Someone who cold cocks another player like the 'Natti player did shouldn't get one game. That was a brutal of a hit as I've ever seen on a basketball floor.

Do you even know what event I am talking about? Probably a good first question.

You may be too young to remember the punch Rudy Tomjanovich took from Kermit Washington. That was the most brutal blow I have ever seen on a basketball court.

Found a video clip: http://www.complex.com/sports/2013/...cts-in-sports-history/kermit-washington-punch

Yes, I know about the brawl/riot at that game. It wasn't too long ago. I really don't see the relevance to a scrum for the ball where one guy loses his mind and punches (elbows) someone. There is a rule in place to deal with Gibbs situation. Just follow the rule. Now if the school or coach want to impose additional punishment, that is fine.
