Summer workouts

Since he only sat 4 mins a game I'm sure it's not a good sample size one way or another. My argument was that the guys made shots. Some people just bash other players for Trae not getting 20 assists but can't stand it when you bring up he probably gave up 40+ points a game.

Lol 40? Why not make it 80?

How many did james give up a game? And by his TOs? Lattin and his atrocious TOs and missed block outs/ bad positioning?

Its a team sport and no one played defense last year. No one. That was Krugers fault about 80-90% IMO. Traes effort may have been the worst and commonly on defense but i can't stand you guys *****ing about 1 player over and over. Esp when Mcgusty was clearly the worst factor

He easily gave up that many. I started getting frustrated by OUs poor defense and started rewinding plays after their was a clear breakdown and TY was over half of them. Odomes played good defense. James, Lattin, & Manek played ok team defense but no one else was good even though Doolittle is a good defender. I also would put blame on the staff for not holding them accountable on that end.

Yes absolutely McGusty had the worst attitude on the team. That and Doolittle getting suspended were the 2 biggest issues imo.

James averaged 1.5 TOs & Lattin 0.7 TOs.

Your first sentence would suggest you didn’t watch the games. When Trae went to the bench, our team could not score at all. Oh, and they still were horrific at defense. There’s a reason why Kruger played him that much.

The team gave up on him, and we have a quote from a teammate saying as much. The team lost their "want" to win in the second half of the year, direct from Brady Manek. They quit on him. Anyone watching that team knows they quit on him.

He took more shots than the next 3 players combined... He could go 1-14 from the field and not get benched. OU didn't play with any kind of real offense. The players in question made respectable percentages of shots, they just only got shots out of sequence when Trae felt like giving up the ball...

You guys should also know that its pretty tough to go bust your ass on defense every possession, fight for rebounds, set picks, clear the floor, and just watch some guy shoot ridiculous shots that he missed way more than he made.

I mean, I am sure Skyvue will block me for saying that but he asked the question, and wanted some kind of proof. Brady Manek provided the proof when he said the team gave up and lost their want to win to a reporter.

Perhaps it is time for a separate thread for those who want to continue rehashing the Trae Young debate, while leaving this thread to discuss things like, you know, summer workouts? Every time I see a new post and click on it only to find another discussion about whether Trae was the worst thing to ever happen OU, I feel foolish for getting my hopes up. Everyone is free to discuss that Trae as long as you want, but it would be nice if that debate doesn't hijack every thread on the board.

Manek did not come close to blaming that on Trae. Only those who for some reason need a single person on which to pin all the blame (it's a frequently seen trait among OU fans; one sees it all the time on the football boards) would make the leap from Manek's statement, which I too read, and putting all the blame on Trae.

That, in deference to Wichita and Max, will be my last statement on the matter in this thread. I won't ever bring the subject up, but as long as posters keep calling into question the character of a Sooner athlete who did nothing wrong (at least nothing that is documented or has even been widely reported), I reserve the right to speak up at a later date.
