Tanner and EJ stay - Mo exploring his Pro options

If you don't think he is below average athletically, than give me some examples of OU guards over the years that you think were far less athletic?

Even some of our "shooters" I thought moved better (Neal, Pledger, even Heskett). And those guys weren't asked to handle the ball. Cortes is only valuable as a PG that handles the ball. So really, that is where the comparison needs to be, to other true PG's.

Is there another Heskett that I'm not aware of?

Bijan looks pretty athletic here on dunks #9 & #3. I was thinking he got injured between HS and coming to OU. Maybe that has something to do with a loss of explosiveness. Not for sure though.

Yea but just think of how much more impressively Heskett and Neal would have thrown those down!

Good find, btw.

I like his court vision/passing ability. Hopefully, he will stick around for a few more years and continue to improve under the Moser system.

Ok. So foot speed means athletic! Got it.

You don't think lateral movement is a part of athleticism?

Especially in basketball it's a huge part. That's my definition of foot speed, being able to move your feet laterally, backwards, forwards etc...moving to stop a defender from driving the ball.

He knows it is. He just wanted to be argumentative towards me.

Of course all things matter. I stand by what I said. Bijan one of the most athletic on the team.

I think strength was a bigger issue for Bijan than raw athleticism. Getting bumped off his spot and not being able to maintain balance/direction/vision in tight spots is what caused a lot of those turnovers. I never thouhght speed was an issue with him. Needs to build strength in his base and core...

Bijan hasn’t been the same since his foot injury in high school. He went from being a really explosive guy to a not as explosive guy.

We fans can't ask for more than that at this point, I'd say.

"with the intent to come back to Oklahoma" appears to be important and deliberate phrasing. Definitely best case scenario, fingers crossed he's back!

Very encouraging news. If he isn’t looking at overseas options, then he will almost surely be back. His phrasing makes it sound like he is just looking for feedback on his game, so returning sounds very likely.

That’s the way I read it too. If he gets good feedback during the workouts and camps, he’ll stay in the draft. If he is told his weaknesses and that he won’t get drafted, he’ll come back to OU.

The good news from that tweet is it’s an either/or deal- NBA or OU. No overseas option at this point.

That’s how I see it, too!

Mo is such a terrific young man, I think we all want what’s best for him and his family. If a return to OU for one more season is in his future, I would be thrilled beyond belief!

My prayers are with you, Mo!

That is an incredibly first class post. So much respect for Mo.

Sounds like he’ll be back to run point and improve his pro prospects.
