The way I see it is that our conference has some very good out of conference wins this year. And by teams who usually lurk at the bottom of conference rankings. As the season progresses this will help the conference RPI.
If OU can beat some of those very teams on the road this year it will go a long ways toward healing our RPI. I believe the RPI is impacted by not only the win/loss record of who you beat but also the win/loss record of the teams the team you beat has. Some of those PAC 10 teams will climb back into higher RPI territory and will help our conference's RPI.
All that said, we still have to win more than half of our conference games. I would like a margin of three games above 500.
