Terrence Jones to Kentucky

Fine by me. The coaches are the ones pushing for meaningless verbal commitments. If a kid wants to be done with the recruiting process early, all he has to do is sign in the early period. It can be a bad situation for coaches and players. The only solution that I can see is to not have a "signing period." Just let kids sign whenever they want, then there is no need for verbal commitments. I just hope the kids don't regret their decision that coaches push them into.

PS The point of a verbal commitment is to state who a player currently intends to sign with. As it is not the actual LOI, it is open for change due to unforeseen information.

oh ok IC...I still think guys de-commiting this late really hurts the schools to much.

I would be ok with keeping the committment idea, but once a guy committs he should be off limits for any coach to further recruit or talk to him...and if the kid wants to de-commit thats when recruiting should re-open...a kid shouldnt de-commit because another coach starts recruiting him or another coach tells him something he wants to hear

Don't see the big deal...if he signs the LOI, then it's game over. Even after he picked UW, rumblings were abound about a possible switch to UK. In football, if a kid verbals, then other programs are still talking to him. In basketball, it's taboo after a verbal commitment is given...don't see why that is.

The biggest tools are the ones going to his FB page and personally attacking him...grow up people, it's CBB. Way I see it, TJ did the best thing possible, wait until the very last minute in order to see what the landscape was like. If I was a blue chip prospect, no way you would get me to sign in the fall...what's the point? A lot can happen in 8 months.

I think it is more the fault of the fans and the media. We take these verbal commitments too seriously. You should never count a commit until he signs on the dotted line, but what fun would that be?

Actually, I think it's a good move for Jones. UK is about to put 5 guys in the first round or at worst, the top of the second for Bledsoe.

Ok you need to stop being so logical when posting. You are making way to much sense

Terrence Jones would be crazy not to recognize at how playing on Cals team will enhance his draft stock. Good grief Daniel Orton hardly played and is being speculated as a lottery pick.

I love Cal.
