If you are interested, the Texas 4A and 5A championships are today. If you live in Texas and have time Warner they should be showing it on channel 888 for the 4A game and Fox Sports Southwest for the 5A game. If you don't have TW you can watch both games online at http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/

4A - Dallas Kimball vs Houston Yates - Kimball has junior wing Keith Frazier a top player nationally and he is still listing OU. He has great range from 3. Kimball also has a very skilled sophomore big man. Yates has a guy going to Oregon and a guy going to Houston. They also have two 6'5 sophomores (5 & 12) who looked really good on Thursday. I am not sure Kimball can handle Yates full court pressure.

5A - Flower Mound Marcus vs Fort Bend Travis - Marcus has Marcus Smart who is probably the best HS SG I have seen live. Reminds me a lot of Dwyane Wade with how he controls the court on both ends. Marcus also has Forte (OSU) and Barnyard (NM). Travis has the Harrison twins who are top juniors in the country. Andrew (5) is the PG and is very smooth. His brother Aaron (3) is the best shooter in the tourney and consistently hits deep 3's (some 30+). Travis also has a guy going to Mt St Mary's (4) and a solid shooter. I think Marcus wins this but the Harrison twins are going to be a tough matchup.

Phil Forte was player of the game with 24 points for Flower Mound Marcus. He dominated the last 6 minutes by setting a great screen to free Marcus Smart, knocking down an open shot and going 6-6 from the line to seal the victory. All of his free throws were nothing but net.

Marcus Smart is an amazing talent. More amazing though, is his will to win

Cracks me up that fans still dog players like Forte. We heard the same crap about Clarke and Page, and OU would have been 3-5 wins better with either one of them on our roster this year. Forte sounds like a good get for the Pokes, and I'm sure I'll be saying the same thing a couple of years from now.

He looked good to me. He played smart. I think he is going to be a solid college basketball player.
