The team has 9 new guys who have never played D-1 basketball.... There are questions marks all over the place. The coach has an under .500 record without Blake Griffin.
There are just too many things pointing the other direction to honestly pick OU as a darkhorse in this league. Sure, I could do it, but I don't really think it.
I am picking OU low this year and hoping they prove me wrong, and they certainly could.
That class is probably good enough to keep Texas Tech competitive to the point where they can give teams an occasional scare or pull off an occasional upset, but not good enough to actually challenge for anything meaningful in the conference.
No disrespect to the Talent in Texas, because it's better than the Oklahoma, but I would take Andrew Wilson, Josh Richardson, Dorrian Williams, and Ryan Spangler against that recruiting class any day. I don't think one person in the Tech class is better than any 4 of those guys. Maybe Wilson, but definetely not the other three.
