Texas Tech was 15-16 last year, 5-13 in conference play. It's a long way to Swoopes. Leading scorer, Amber Battle, 15.6, is gone. Long-time nemesis of OU, Kelsi Baker, is gone. That's two key starters from a team that needs all the talent they can get.

Statistics: 2014-2015

Larryn Brooks 5-5 G Indiana Soph

Recee Caldwell 5-8 G UCLA Freshman

Brooks led Indiana in scoring. Caldwell's father, Ray, joined Candi Whitaker's staff two days before Recee.

I don't know when the transfers become eligible, but Tech needs them now. Ivonne Cook-Taylor, Rayven Brooks, and Dayo Olabode form a good nucleus that has some talent, but they may not be ready to be the prime time stars just yet. Olabode was pretty good against us last year. But, Tech is a team that needs some help now.

Unless the transfers can play this year, I suspect that Tech may be hard pressed to match last year's record. They lost to OU 75-58 and 70-64 last year.

The three teams that I addressed thus far, TCU, Texas Tech, and West Virginia, had one victory against OU last year---West Virginia in Morgantown.

Tech schedule:

The non-conference schedule is weak enough to win some games.
