Re: So we may be seeing the Big 12 RIP.
The money would shift if everyone teamed up on the blue bloods.... They need to fight the status quo. Go be in your own league. Create new leagues WITHOUT them. Do that, or they leave you in the dust.
Are you saying Kentucky is more interested in $20 million a year to be a doormat than playing in a legitimate league and giving their players and fans a good honest product to root for?
Why does the super conference even want Kentucky? Vandy? Mississippi State? Arkansas? Etc... Just need some roadkill? Are those teams just being paid to be cannon fodder for Alabama? That's what you are describing... You keep citing money...
You are describing a landscape where all non-blue bloods are bribed cannon fodder for the upper-echelon teams in super leagues.
And that is not even considering the negative impact this has on the UCF's, South Floridas, Boise States, etc of the world. Reduces the relevance of the entire "mid major" landscape.
yea those schools don't want to give up 30-50 million a year in revenue. they make 45 million a year right now without OU and texas. that is estimated to go up to 60-75 million a year after the addition of OU and texas. leaving the SEC would see them form a new league with no brands and get 15-30 million a year.
Even you cant honestly say you would give up that kind of money for your school for "tradition"
