Manning gets too much credit from national observers for that upset win. He did what he always did against us; it was the role players who played over their heads and were the difference (and I'll agree that there were a few questionable calls along the way).
Manning went for 31 & 18 boards in that game. Newton and Pritchard had 15 & 13 pts, respectively. Both averaged around 11 pts per game on the season so they had a couple extra points that game. Make no mistake, however, Manning was a star that night.
The real key was that KU shot 64% and we shot just 43%.
