Freeman and Grandstaff have made the second team much more competitive in practice. Apparently they are giving the starters all they want and more sometimes. Both of them make a bunch of shots.

Both were expected to do so. These are quality prospects. :chestram2:

I think Grandstaff is a huge addition to our team. He was averaging 4.4ppg in 10mpg and Shooting close to 40% for ohio state.

No one currently on our bench is averaging that many ppg.

I don't think he will be starting immediately once he's eligible but I bet he is starting by the end of the season...unless Kruger just doesn't want to mess with the starting lineup but I guarantee he will be in at the end of the games.

I love to hear this. More talent coming in.

Grandstaff is ready to play now. Freeman still needs time. Freeman is timid at times, which is expected.

Grandstaff and Freeman are great additions to our program!

We haven't talked much about Grandstaff since he made the decision to transfer to OU. But in updating his profile on the Prospects Board, I learned pretty fast that he is an elite shooter from deep with range from beyond the NBA line. That's not all he can do, but knocking down long range shots and pull up jumpers is his speciallty.

I suspected this would happen. It is good for the team. Just having a couple of new guys that do things differently is good for the team in my opinion.

Guys at practice, how is Rashard looking? You can tell he is down about not playing, but are you seeing any progression that he will get minutes next year. He definitely looks the part...

Its a learning curve. He'll play a ton next year. I said in another thread, when its all done. I think odomes will be better than James. (personal opinion)

Odomes was the newcomer that impressed me the most offensively in the practices I watched last summer, although he was probably more of a street-ball player. He had great moves and could really slash to the basket. He just needs to be patient. His time will come.

My own eyes and Sources.

Freeman just stepped off of the plane two weeks ago. I doubt if even the coaches are ready to call him "timid" at this point. He's definitely not timid in celebrating with his teammates on the sideline and in the locker room. Even if he is, that's to be expected for a kid who is in a new environment thousands of miles from home.

I'm assuming practices are still "open"...

if so I'd love to hear about Freeman and Grandstaff are doing...I know some has said they they are hitting shots...

Guess I'm "worried" about next year! LOL..yes, enjoying this year but man we'll have a ton to replace.

Good to hear. I got that sense too seeing them in person as well during summer camp.

are you kidding me? next year will be a blast watching them learn and grow together.

I guess it's just me. I thoroughly enjoy the rebuilding process. We see what the results can be if you're patient.

I agree, I do think we've got talent...you understand I live in ku country? I don't want to wait 4 more years to be tops in the big 12.... :)

(I don't think we will have to wait 4 years, but if ya don't think they'll be a large drop-off just looking at the stats..well then...)

I didnt mean "timid" as bad. Just what you said, its culture shock, college adjustment, etc...

As expected, you are correct.
