I'd like to see a lot more of C.J. and a lot less of Thompson!

should have happened a month ago, yet minutes seem to be declining. and poor ty neal. don't get me started there either.

-ugh agreed. how does he go from not playing at all hardly in the last few games to starting over CJ or yes even nick considering they are the ones coming off the bench & not him? i looove me some tneal but i just DONT understand capels rotations & lineups. ever.

I've been saying this since the start of the season. I've never liked Thompson. He tries but isnt a good athlete, doesnt have basketball instincts, doesnt rebound and doesnt move effectively. He can pass. And should.

I'd like to see Thompson only playing the 3 sparingly in a big lineup. Last night would have been a good night to try it against Baylor's length. Playing the 3, we dont have to depend on him as much to rebound or block shots. He's really just a 6-9 wing player anyways. He definetly not a banger.

But speaking of CJ, he is averaging 3.2 RPG in only 10 mpg. For all the stat geeks out there, here's what his rebounding #'s might look like if he played more minutes.

20 minutes per game - 6.4 rpg (which would lead the team)
30 minutes per game - 9.6 rpg (which would lead the conference)
40 minutes per game - 12.8 rpg (which would be 3rd in the nation)

So you could see how the guy pulled down 26 rebounds in a game in junior college.

Great stat, really puts things in perspective.

I just dont understand at all, noone, including capel, is stupid enough to leave thompson out there without giving washington a chance unless something is happening behind closed doors....

I refuse to think capel is that stupid, something must be going on.

I do think CJ was in the dog house early on during the year. I remember Capel going on and on about Thompson's leadership and work ethic and he barely said a work about CJ.

I'm sure theres more than just what we see during games.

I'm guessing he isnt playing because he is limited with his size handling the ball, but at this point that shouldnt matter...if he gives us a better advantage on the boards and a more consistent defender he needs to be in the game...

I would love to see CJ out there 20 plus minutes. But I will say that if Capel is rewarding players with playing time on how they hustle and perform in practice then that works for me. Since this is a rebuilding year, why not make these players earn every minute of playing time.

I'd rather see CJ a lot more over Thompson. Hell, I'd rather OU play with four guys if it meant keeping Thompson off the court.

Thought I'd mention that today against Texas, CJ Washington was our leading rebounder.....in 12 minutes of action.

It was kind of funny because all 3 times when he checked in, he got a rebound on the first possession he was on the floor. Like instant rebounding. I know that was fluke, but it was just funny to me. Funny/sad that he's not playing 25+ minutes a game so he could get 10+ rebounds per game and Cade wouldn't be fouling out trying to guard Tristan Thompson, Gary Johnson, etc

I think he needs to be one of the first guys off the bench with this team.
