The roster is in chaos right now

Why would anyone like the cycle? Unless the lows are still good years and the peaks are really good year.

This.

I realize that we'll have some years that are better than others. That is fine. When I talk about the cycles, I'm talking about the bad years looking like 2017, and to a lesser extent 2018 even. And now possibly, 2019. I don't like that for OU basketball.

This has nothing to do with TY

He wasn’t the problem.

Guess leaving were the problem.

2019 will be a great class

So I guess lack of effort on defense is ok. His hustle at times wasn't good. Yes he was part of the problem but the bigger problem was the coaches catering to him and his family.

I like the journey as much as the destination.

I enjoy watching the kids get better. The team become more cohesive. The group become stronger than the parts.

That is possible without having bad years.

As much time as you spend on this board, you better NOT be "walking out" for higher pay here in two weeks. smh

I don't think this post was really needed. Coach is a good poster...disagree with him all you want but don't hit below the belt.

(Im on Plan)

It personal for some reason with him... Its cool.

We've been through this. I know who you are, and I think you oversell it on the board. Simple as that. I won't apologize for the comment I made earlier, but I probably shouldn't have made it. Combination of you embellishing who you are, and my dislike of the whole teacher strike thing. <shrugs>

“Douche Post of the Year” leader in the clubhouse.

If it's a comment you know you shouldn't have made, isn't it worth an apology?

what else have you been wrong about or is this the only mark on your record

Typical message board fodder, people overselling their own worth, accomplishments, the validity of their opinions, etc.

Are you really that simple minded?!?! The Big 12 now is a HELL of a lot better than it was when Kelvin was here!! A&M and Baylor were 4 guaranteed wins back in the day...and K-State was about the same!! Tell me how many teams are guaranteed sweeps in the Big 12 these days??

Things aren't EVER as good as they seem and things aren't EVER bad as they seem...

I look at this as opportunity for fresh blood. And that can always be an exciting thing.

OSU should have been a sweep. Same with ISU.

People keep talking about how great the Big XII is, but who actually believes that? If so, please explain why KU winning conference is a forgone conclusion every year. They wouldn't have done this in any other P5 conference. They'd be happy to win 3-4 every decade in the ACC.

I agree with this. I know we made a good showing in the Dance, but I don't put much stock in that. Anything can happen in March.

So when the Big 12 does badly in the Dance, we hear about how overrated the conference was. And when the Big 12 does well, it's a March Madness fluke.

The conference's RPI has been at or near the top virtually every year of late. Does that not count? If a strong showing in the tourney doesn't mean the conference is good and a high (or top) conference ranking during the regular season doesn't mean the conference is good, I'm not sure where to turn. Shall we just let Bilas, Raftery and Vitale name the best conference every year?

Kenpom believes that. It's been the #1 rated conference 5 years in a row.

It would obviously be better if someone else had won the conference during that time, but the Big 12 just doesn't have terrible teams at the bottom that everyone else has. Plus, the league plays a round robin every year which means that everyone plays the best teams twice and just doesn't have easy games. I guess the conference's worst team at home is an easy game but that's 1 out of 18. The ACC, the 2nd best conference, is extremely top heavy -- great teams at the top but mediocrity in the middle and straight garbage at the bottom.
