The situation at Booker T

Off topic, but it's getting kind of ugly. Seals has been suspended from coaching and teaching duties for an indefinite period, and they have named an interim coach. BTW is undefeated and ranked in the top 50 nationally by Rivals.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, here a couple of stories from the Tulsa World:

Was he partying with some OU football players? Ok, seriously, he'll sit out a couple and be back before too long. He needs to wake up before he loses everything. Boy, Seals was a really good player. He used to play ball at Bally's when I was a younger lad and he just didn't hardly miss open jumpers. Come on Shea, get it together.

Seals was a stud on the hardwood...would have loved to have him in Norman at the time.

I hope he makes the necessary changes and never looks back.

What happens to a teacher that is not a coach if they get a DUI? In my opinion that is what should happen to Seals. In other words he should be treated like all other teachers.

I like Shea Seals as a coach and a person, but you just can't do it. Same goes for Eddie and BCG.

If I got a DUI I would be fired. Also some coaches have driving responsibilities. Not to mention this guy is a role model and in some cases a father figure to his kids.

If I got one I would not be. As I believe with the majority of jobs in this country. I'm a role model and father figure to kids as well....one DUI doesn't change that. Kids make mistakes. Parents make mistakes.
We learn from them and grow.

I think he should be fired. Why he's suspended... He was drinking and driving! What a leader for his team!

If it's his first offense, suspend him for a few games, let the legal process run its course and allow him back. Good opportunity to teach his players about adversity.

One distinction is that Eddie and BCG could clearly afford an unlimited number of cabs and perhaps should be held to a slightly higher standard. I am not trying to justify the DUI. Seals screwed up but I don't think he should lose his job unless all teachers lose their job over a DUI.

I'm not saying he should lose his job, but if he did, it would be more than acceptable. He has a lot to make up to his team. He has a very talented team, probably one of the top two teams in the state. This sends a very bad message.
