This is a VERY exciting day for Sooner fans!

I'm a little confused because they had Manek credited with 15 at half, and I am pretty sure I saw him score more than 2 in the second half.

I only saw him score 2 in the second half.

Just starting to watch the game, but I am already really impressed with Manek. I know this isn't Big 12 competition but dang. Love his shot, moves fluid with the ball, quick reaction time on quick passes to him in the lane. Easily the best player on the floor so far in the first half IMO.

I don't remember Manek playing but a couple minutes the second half. Great debuts for all freshmen Young Manek & Polla.

Hard to say without knowing how good the other team is..but I believe things are looking up for the men. Billy Tubbs would have loved it and Booby knight would leave them there. Defense will get better as time moves on.

Sheperd's 11 assists jumped out to me. Of course Manek's quick start was a pleasant surprise, too.

No way I would have picked Shep to have the most assists. He also logged the most minutes, another surprise for me. Have we found our back up point guard in the first game of the season?

A few other things that stood out to me. Twelve players got a decent share of the minutes and they all scored. James and Freeman shot the ball well from the perimeter. A few others did, too, but we had more cause for concern about how those two players would shoot the ball. Polla was 4 for 4, all in close which is where he needs to be. The impressive part for me is that he did it in only seven minutes.

Khadeem Lattin had a great game. Sixteen points, 7 rebounds (4 on the offensive end), 1 assist and 5 steals in only 19 minutes is one heck of a game in my book. He was also an impressive 8 of 12 from the field, including an unimpressive 0 of 2 from three point range. Enough said on that topic.

Yes, our defense could have been better in the first half. But on the whole, this was a great start to the season, especially when so many players were getting some playing time.

exactly. a very good debut IMO.

13/29 from the arc? 50% from 3-pt land will do many good things for a team. Plus it will get better.

Yes.

I thought our halfcourt offense flowed awesomely too, even though it was a run and gun game. Last year it was abysmal.. Maybe it's an emphasis?

yeah, def trying to get Brady some open 3's..the double pick looked good.

Young had a super quiet 21...didn't think he was even close to that.
