Jolly -- elite high d-1 athlete, very skilled. He is certainly OU good. If we have a scholly and his medical situation isn't a problem, Then I say try and sign him. Have no idea if we could get him if we wanted him. Saw on here that he committed to Cal. And, we might have too many wings otherwise coming in.

Don't know anything about young. But, I trust this staff's eye for talent.

Ethen Chargois (s) -- Best big prospect in years. He will blow up, if he hasn't already. OU should have already offered unless they really have a big time prospect from out of state. Kid looks to me to really actually be 6-8/9 and he has a good frame. Very skilled. Very good shooter for a kid his size. Has a pretty good motor for a young big. I probably like him better than most. I think he will be big time before it is all over. Keep in mind, nobody every accused me of knowing anything about basketball.

Manek -- have seen him once. I see what the coaches are seeing but I'm not sure. I like the union kid a lot more. Positive Lon can project him out better than I can. Right now, I don't know.

Long and Meyer -- both are pretty good high school players, but not sure what they will be in college. meyer isn't nearly as skilled at Union kid and will be a 5 if anything. He will not and does not have the skill to be a 4 -- JMO. I like Long, but am not convinced he can play at ou. Maybe could.

Just a lay opinion, but I like Jolly and Chargois of all the kids I have seen.

I have always said I thought ETHan was the best Oklahoman in his class.

He was measured by Tulsa at 6-8 barefoot. Has grown the last two years so might have an inch or two more.

ETHan is the point guard on the press break. Has range out to the 3. His motor really needs to improve but that is the case for many high school kids.

OU has recruited him and invited him to all games last year. Have to know that ETHan plays for Garcia and Garcia has known Crutch for years since their kids were on the same AAU team for a while.

Size is a premium in Oklahoma so you have to get the right on. Chargois, Manek, and Doolittle have the size and are athletic enough to play for OU.

As for guards, that's even trickier. Most guards with skill in the state are smallish and OU likes big guards. So you must be special like Trae Young. OU likes their guards 6ft3 plus. However they will take the right small guard like a Woodard.

Here's an article from the Tulsa World from January talking about some Tulsa area kids to watch: Ethan Chargois, Elijah Landrum, Caleb Norris, Peyton Pratt, Parker Jennings. It sounds like Elijah Landrum is a young PG that will be good, but we already have Pritchard committed.

Landrum is a scoring combo. Not really a fit for OU. I think he would be great at a Tulsa or Missouri Valley school. I think Chargois eventually gets an OU offer. The rest of those guys are small school.

I have a close connection with Ethan and I have no idea if he loves OU or not, but he will, very likely, stay in state, and that's from an impeccable source. So if OU were to offer and get after him, I think they would have a good chance. And, I echo the comments here. I have seen him play 5 or 6 times. Has a real chance to be a stretch 4 - Cam Clark type player.

Add another name to Tulsa area kids - Caleb Huffman, a combo-guard at BA - he will be a sophomore. Father played at TU for Tubby back in the day. Has a good chance to be D-1 before he is done. Very athletic and as fast as any kid in the state.

Caleb's dad is Jody Huffman, who also played at BA and went on to TU. He was a couple of years ahead of me but was fabulous player in HS. Was a little undersized for the post but was still effective at TU. BA had a run of a few players going to TU back then; Huffman, Jeff Malham and Jay Malham...who I graduated with.
