Tiny's quotes on the situation

If I am going off the deep end, then you guys are staying in the kiddie pool.

Show me where I said Capel should be fired?

I have said that Capel, and Joe C. need to be held accountable because OU, and NCAA violations are becoming a pattern. If I am Pres. Boren I would have Joe C. in my office and it would not be a pleasant meeting. And I would hope that Joe has had Capel in his office and had a not very pleasant meeting.
You are not Boren and you are not Joe so just give it a rest. We got it that you are not happy. Now, move along.

The point I'M trying to make to you, but you just simply WON'T listen is...Joe, Jeff and Dave have known about ALL OF THE DETAILS of this "scandal" for a LONG time. Jeff is still the coach. Since you're good at doing all of this deductive reasoning, why don't you apply it to that fact as well?

Now Now, you know you can't use logic on the board.

actually I agree with Glory there.

Here you have a program that was JUST under the microscope...the absolutely, positively last thing it needed was another flyspeck. That should have been beaten into heads from the git-go and only people who could be trusted to proceed as such should have been hired - because it SHOULD be Joe C. and coach's azzes at that point.

I dont care if we're doing all the compliance measures and saying all the right things. If we're not doing it then some heads hafta roll. period. Someone is accountable. IMO that's Joe C. and coach. Doesn't matter to me if Joe C. saved the Pope or fathered Mother Teresa...if he's the one accountable then gotta go. Same with coach.

We can't just sit around and play the "we're doing good things" card. We either are or we aren't following the rules. If we're not then someone gets fired as we get someone who will.

I hear what you are saying, but what if, and strictly what if, the one responsible was Coach O by himself. No second gun man, completely lied to Capel and Joe C. the whole time. Since he was fired then wouldn't the responsible party be gone? That's the only point I am trying to make.

Someone IS accountable and he has been shown the door. Of course others are responsible such as Jeff and Joe C but that does not mean they need to be fired. Unless they had direct involvement or knowledge, it would be stupid to fire them.

I'm only condoning the "wait and see" approach. I agree with the point that IF coach is involved in ANY WAY or had ANY knowledge...then bye-bye...

The problem is, goofballs like Glory are just running around screaming "the house is on fire!" and he's not even gone outside the house to look. It might just be a really bright, warm day...

I think that is the same approach 90% percent of the people posting on this tread are taking. Which I believe is the right course of action at this time.

The house may or may not be on fire right now. But there have been previous fires and the cleanup hasn't even been finished from the last fire. And now there is smoke again, what do you think is happening?

Nope. Absolutely not.

Their personal culpability lies in the fact that it happened. period. THAT is total accountability.

When you can't rely on the discretion of others to prevent these types of things from happening then you must demand total accountability. It didn't matter to the SECNAV that the harbor pilot had control of the USS Eisenhower when it ran into a moored spanish freighter coming into Norfolk harbor. Total accountability means there is NO passing the buck. If you hired a guy who made that decision or did that thing ... c'est la vie. You're still accountable. JJ Dantone lost his command even though he wasn't on the bridge.

We hafta draw a better line and stop this crap. Thats how you do it. Joe C and coach bear the burden.

That was the previous house...:facepalm

I guess that means that every time a soldier is killed in Afghanistan, they need to fire all of the commanding officers all the way up the chain of command. Afterall, having a soldier die is much more serious than the transfer of $3,000.

Glory is enjoying the "Glory" he is gettinhg from you guys responding to what he says. You know, "negative strokes are better than no strokes"

With coolm making the same argument as Glory, I may have to reconsider my position. :ez-laugh:

why would a high school require a $3000 fee to release a transcript.

That schools needs to have it ass kicked, OT needs to have his ass kicked. The OU bball program should know better and I dont mind them being punished for getting involved, they should. I hope it is not harsh enough to effect our Fball team as well.

Oak Hills tuition for 2010 I believe is $27,000. It is a private school, if a kids tuition hasn't been paid in full they won't release their transcript.

this undying loyalty to Capel by some on this board is quite entertaining. If this had been Kelvin this place would be burning down by now. Not sure what the guy did to deserve this, but I sure wish some of you were my parents while I was in highschool.
